On Wednesday there was a post about our shop, on the Arnold site. Not giving a lady a refund for a piece of jewellery, she purchased from our Nottingham Store, she claimed that she was not told it was exchange only, unless goods were faulty. She came into our Shop (Sherwood) wanting a refund, but we explained that it is exchange only now, unless it’s faulty. The Lady said that she was not told this at the Nottingham branch, so we told her to take it back to them as they misinformed her. She told a member of our staff she would do, but then went onto Facebook to say that she was not told this.
All our staff at Mind Sherwood tell customers about the no refund policy, now being exchange only, within 14 days. Which came into effect on 1st May 2026. We do have a sign behind the till (as shown in attached picture)that informs people of this and it is also on the receipt, we are now in the process of putting more posters around the shop informing customers of this too, we also highlight the receipt.
This does not affect if the item is faulty but must come back in the condition they were sold in with tag attached and valid receipt and we also do not give credit notes. Once you exchange and get a new receipt which again if the item does not fit then you can exchange again.
Please note it is the customers responsibility to retain the receipt if they wish to get an exchange and within 14 days, without this we are unable to process any exchanges.
We just wanted to clear this matter as this has upset the person who spoke to the lady and to also inform everyone.
If the lady in question would like to come in store we will happily exchange it for her, she needs to just ask for a member of staff and we will help her.
