We are getting a bigger studio…with a toilet! I’m so excited!

The best part is, it’s in the same building so I’m not going far.

I do need some help though! There is a bit of work I need done before it’s ready to go as a pottery studio.

I am on a small budget so I am hoping to find some help in the form of a trade!

I am offering a variety of trades from date nights, classes and birthday parties for kids or grown ups!

I’m open to negotiations though!

I’m after a plumber, possibly a carpenter and someone that spray paints ( or paints with a brush not fussy just don’t want to paint the giant room alone )

When I quit my job last year to become a full time potter, I didn’t realise how little time I’d actually get to sit and create.

Running the studio is amazing, it’s such a creative and collaborative space but it does take up almost all of my time.

Lately I’ve been realising that I really need to prioritise time to be creative. I need it honestly. The need to make things is always there so I’m giving myself time.

Today I sat and played with some new ideas, this one is my favourite.

This mug is going to be a series called My Favourite Things.

As it’s a test I made it with all the things I love.

It looks a bit rough now but it going to be so beautiful!

I’m very pleased my my recent makes but I am especially happy with this beautiful neutral colour palette.

The speckled spoon rests have a gorgeous satin matte finish that I adore.

The trinket dishes have a simple clear glaze that just enhances the natural colour of the clay.

This has resulted in some of my brushes ending up a bit more worn than I’d like.

I decided to make my very own brush pot to keep my brushes totally separate. Now I will be the only one to ruin them 🤣

Boys and girls…I pulled this out of the kiln this week and it’s glorious even if I do say so myself!

I was very much inspired by a studio member so thanks to Teegan for the idea.

I love everything about this, the size, the wobbly edge which is perfect in its imperfections and the glaze!

It’s so so pretty in real life and a gorgeous one of a kind creation.

It would make a fabulous centrepiece for a coffee table.

I’ve just ordered a brand new and much bigger kiln for the studio.

It’s very exciting but the lead time on the kiln is 2-4 weeks.

Anything made or painted at the studio over the next few weeks will be slightly delayed in being finished.

It’s not ideal but it’s very good for the studio as we will be able to fire so much more in one go!

I have them in two colour ways, sunset and rainbow and I couldn’t pick a favourite if you put a gun to my head!

I still have to add lustre to the white but even as it is it’s gorgeous!

The pink is absolute perfection. It’s been sat on my shelf for months. I can’t believe I haven’t tried it before now!

These colours will join my collection of favourites and you’ll be seeing more of them for sure!
