Just finished, here’s my review…… “The Little Venice Bookshop” by Rebecca Raisin. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. While I appreciate the themes of hippie culture and women empowerment, I found the references a bit over the top and repetitive. The story itself felt flat and rather long-winded, which was not what I had anticipated.

I was really hoping for something more engaging, but sadly, it just didn’t resonate with me.

Just finished……
The characters, Nina, and Patrick, from those disenfranchised mining towns, were such compelling protagonists. Their journey to Belavere City for magical training was captivating, especially the twist where they discover that Artisans aren’t born but chosen. That secret added such a fascinating layer to their story.

Years later, seeing Nina become a powerful Artisan and Patrick leading a rebellion was an incredible development. The way they were forced to work together amidst a class war, all while dealing with their complex past and a love triangle, made for such an engaging and intense read. The dynamics between them were so well-written and kept me hooked from start to finish.

I am eagerly looking forward to the second book in this trilogy. The storytelling is truly remarkable, and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this magical, tumultuous world that has been created.

I just had to share my excitement after finishing Lisa Jewell’s ‘None of This is True’. Wow, what a read! I was gripped right from the start and found myself saying “no way” more than once. The way the book is split into four sections to tell each side of the story is brilliant. It took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and I was completely hooked. The writing is engaging, gripping, and descriptive. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it!

just wanted to share my thoughts on the book I recently finished for my Title Word Challenge – “All That Glitters” by Danielle Steel. This was my first experience with one of her novels, and I have to say, it might be my last. The plot turned out to be quite predictable, and I found myself getting a bit frustrated with the main character, Coco. She kept falling head over heels for rich, handsome men, one after another, and it started to feel rather repetitive.

As I got deeper into the book, I realised that I was only continuing out of sheer determination to reach the end, as I had pretty much guessed the outcome. Predictably enough, Coco ended up with her childhood best friend, who had been by her side all along. While I appreciate the effort that goes into writing a novel, this one just didn’t resonate with me.

I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve read it, or if you have any recommendations for a more engaging read!

I recently finished reading, “The Wrong Sister” I must say, it was quite an intriguing read with plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout the story. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the plot would take another unexpected turn, which made it even more engaging.

However, I did feel that the book was a bit long-winded in certain places. The pacing could have been tighter, as some sections seemed to drag on more than necessary. Additionally, I was a bit disappointed with how the incident in Venice was left unresolved. It felt like an important plot point that deserved more attention and closure.

As for the ending, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. It left me with mixed emotions and a sense of ambiguity. Despite these minor gripes, I found it to be a good, easy read overall. If you enjoy suspenseful stories with plenty of surprises, I would still recommend giving “The Wrong Sister” a try.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts if you’ve read it or plan to!
