🔧 WHEN A “BATTERY FAULT” ISN’T ACTUALLY THE BATTERY…

This iPhone 16 came into us completely dead and not powering on, with the initial suspected fault being the battery.

But after carrying out our diagnostics, we spotted something that didn’t look right.

⚡ Our power testing showed an abnormal 6.5V reading, which immediately pointed us towards a deeper internal issue rather than simply replacing the battery.

Further testing led us to the motherboard, with the fault suspected within the USB-C charging/power management circuitry or a shorted component on one of the main power rails.

So instead of fitting an unnecessary battery and hoping for the best, we’re now carrying out a board-level repair — tracing the affected power rail, identifying the failed component and repairing the motherboard to restore normal power and charging operation.

This is exactly why proper diagnostics matter.

Dead phone ≠ dead battery.
