Plymouth is preparing to mark the 30th anniversary of a horrific homophobic attack on two gay men in the city. Terry Sweet and Bernard Hawken were brutally beaten and left for dead in Central Park in November 1995. Terry died of his injuries while Bernard was left physically disabled. It was a case which had far-reaching consequences for policing, inclusivity and the city's relationship with its LGBT community.
