🧢 Quick question...

When you're choosing your next project, what grabs your attention first?

🩷 The colour?
🧡 The texture?
πŸ“– The pattern?
✨ Or do you need all three before you're sold?

This gorgeous textured jumper is one of the newest samples in the shop, and I have to admit... I think I'm a texture person. There's just something so satisfying about running your hands over all those stitches!

What about you? πŸ‘‡

I feel like every knitter/crocheter has that moment where they have to decide... am I going to spend the next 20 minutes fighting this knot, or am I just going to cut it? πŸ˜‚

Apparently Captain No *Beep* has made his decision.

Also... did anyone else in Plymouth actually see the rain this morning?! I wasn't convinced it was real! πŸ˜‚

If you're out and about this week, pop in and say hello. Whether you need yarn, advice, or just a chat with people who understand why sniffing yarn is perfectly normal, we'd love to see you. πŸ§ΆπŸ’œ

Would you have kept fighting the knot... or reached for the scissors?

🌻 Sometimes it's the little things that remind you why you do what you do.

Yesterday I had such a lovely chat with a customer, and today she came back into the shop with these beautiful sunflowers for me. It was completely unexpected, and honestly, it made my day.

Running a small independent yarn shop has its challenges, but moments like this remind me just how lucky I am. One of the things I love most about being in Stoke Village is the sense of community. It might be a little quieter than some shopping areas, but it's genuinely full of kind people, and I'm so grateful to be part of it.

The Bright Stitch has never just been about selling yarn. It's about the conversations, the friendships, celebrating finished projects, helping people start new ones, and sharing a love of crafting with people who walk through the door.

So, thank you. Not just to the lovely customer who brought me these flowers, but to every single person who chooses to support my little shop. Whether you've popped in for yarn, joined me for a workshop, stopped for a chat, or simply liked, shared or commented on a post... you help make this little community what it is, and I appreciate you more than you know. πŸ’›

I'd love to know... what's the kindest thing a small local business has ever done for you, or what's the kindest thing you've done for one? Let's spread a little positivity today. 🌻

🧢 Controversial Knitting & Crochet Opinion...
I'll go first...

I think temperature blankets are often too big, take far too long, and stop being fun long before they're finished.

For me, crafting should be enjoyable, not feel like a year-long obligation. I'd much rather finish several projects that I love than spend 12 months working on just one.

That's just my opinion though... πŸ‘€

Now it's your turn! What's your controversial knitting or crochet opinion?

Let's keep it friendly and have a bit of fun with it. I'm looking forward to seeing which opinions really split the room! πŸ˜„

🧢 It's WIP Wednesday! 🧢

I'd love to see what everyone's working on this week. Whether you're crocheting, knitting, cross stitching or anything else crafty, tell me what's currently on your hook or needles in the comments! πŸ’›

It's also the last day we've got a work experience student with us in the shop, and I'd love for them to see just how lovely our local crafting community really is.

So if you've been meaning to pop in for a browse, need help choosing yarn, want to show off your latest project or simply fancy a chat, today would be a brilliant day to visit.

Independent yarn shops are about so much more than selling yarn - they're about community, inspiration and sharing our love of crafting. I'd love for them to leave with that experience.

See you soon! 🧢✨

Good morning! πŸ’›

It's Tuesday which means its my first open day of the week, and this week we've got a student with us on work experience, getting a little glimpse into what it's like to work in an independent yarn shop.

If you've been thinking about popping in for a browse, we'd love to see you! Not only will you be supporting a small local business, you'll also be helping show what a busy, friendly yarn shop is all about. 🧢

We also want to know what are your crafting hallelujah's? Tell us in the comments below πŸ˜‡

See you soon! 😊

If you're heading down to Stoke Village Fun Day, don't forget to pop your head in and say hello! πŸ§ΆπŸ’›

I'm open for a few extra hours today, and with the weather finally cooling down a little, it's the perfect excuse to come and have a browse, squish some yarn and maybe find your next project.

Whether you're looking for crochet, knitting, amigurumi or just fancy a chat, I'd love to see you.

Enjoy the Fun Day, and hopefully I'll see some of you soon! 😊
