If you're looking for a sign to let you know it's ok to let your kids watch a Bedtime Story because you're on your knees kind of tired, then this is it!

A long day in work, followed by rush hour traffic and bathtime, or a day of school runs and parenting a toddler or newborn, or BOTH, can certainly take it's toll.

It's OK to let Tom Hardy or Dolly Parton take over once in a while, so you can get your breath back and drink your cuppa whilst it's hot.

You're not failing as a parent because you let them watch TV instead of reading to them. You're doing your best in that very moment.
You've got this, Mama! 💪❤️

❤️This isn't goodbye! Do NOT worry. I've decided to take my business in a different direction... we're moving purely ONLINE!

❤️That's the beauty of network marketing, you can make it work for you and fit around your life as an added bonus.

📚When I started my Usborne business almost 4 years ago, I was a solo parent, relying on the government for help (spoiler alert: they weren't very helpful), I was battling mental health problems and trying to figure out who I was again. I had a degree in Fashion Design, I'd worked with some of the biggest names on Savile Row, and yet here I was raising a toddler on my own and living hand to mouth every month.

👩‍❤️‍👨Today... Life is very different. We now live with my partner, his 10yr old and a kitten called Betty. Blended family life is gooooood!
My kiddos are growing faster than I can keep up, I'm now working full time in marketing (using skills I learned from my Usborne business) for a charity, which can be emotionally intense at times.

🛍️But here's the exciting part...I've got tonnes, and I mean TONNES of stock that I no longer need for markets and events, which I will be selling off at ATLEAST half price, or less.

Taking a different tone on the feed this morning with all the Sunday vibes. A sunbathing cat. A pot of coffee and some lazy girl 'overnight oats'.

This is your reminder that it's ok to slow down. Life doesn't always need to be 100mph in order to be worthwhile. Busy may look appealing on the outside, but the burn out is NOT!

We've had a very lazy weekend around these parts. The kiddos have been off spending time with other family members, and myself and the Mr have been taking it easy.
Back to back documentaries on Disney+, a date night gig, and a slow Sunday pottering about at home.
It's been just what I needed after a stressful couple of weeks.

Gosh I miss storytime sessions with luscious, tiny people.
Getting kids excited about reading is one of the main reasons why I've kept this business going.
When you see the look of amazement on their faces at something unexpected happening in the plot, or an uncontrollable giggle when you use expression and silly voices, it fills my heart to bursting.

Mother's Day is a funny one... I've always enjoyed making a fuss of my own mum. She's wonderful! And I'm very lucky that she is still in my life.
But my own Mother's Day experience has never been picture perfect.
My first one was awful...a poonami, a cold roast dinner, and arguments...I'll let you fill in the blanks.
In the years that followed, it was just me and Little Legs, flying solo.
This year is the first time I've had my own family but, there's something not quite sitting right.

I know people who have lost their mothers and the pain of today is unbearable.
I know people who don't have children and long for a small person to bring them a homemade card.
I know people who have chosen not to have children, but have shaped and helped raise children better than the most seasoned parents.

So what I'm trying to say here is...
You won't get all the bells and whistles from me today.
I'll be celebrating the women who mean the most to me, whether they're mothers or not, and thanking them for being my proverbial village...because that's what we really should be celebrating here. Women who shape and help raise our children...not just mothers. ❤️

Thank goodness for Grandparents!

The ones who take the wheel when you're running on empty. When he's been nagging you all day to do his Pokémon origami book and you're not sure you've got it in you anymore after breaking up the endless squabbling.

Well this is a bit of a worrying statistic.
Do you know if your child is one of the 8? When did you last see them read for pleasure? When did you last listen to them read?

There's so much stigma around children struggling with literacy skills but it doesn't need to be that way.
Meet them where they are, identify where they need help, start with the basics and then make it fun.

Kids are far more likely to absorb information if you make it fun and engaging for them.

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant Hapus!

I may be an English girl by blood, and this definitely ISN'T the land of my father's but, there's something about St David's Day that makes me feel very proud to call this country my home for the past 20-something years.

Maybe it's the baking of Welsh cakes, the Bara Brith, the endless amounts of cwtches, the hospitality and kind manners expressed to complete strangers, or the ability to break into song and summon a rousing chorus of "Ar Hyd y Nos" at a moment's notice but, there's something I can't quite put my finger on that makes me 'chuffed' to be an honorary Welshie...that is, until they go head to head in the Rugby and then I will drown you ALL out with my rendition of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot". 💪❤️🌹

You don't need a picture perfect workspace to get started with your Usborne business. You just need to start!

This is my current view, working at my dining table. I used to have an office but, that is now becoming 'Long Legs' bedroom (more on that later).
A mix of Bluey colouring, work diary and meal planning...mum-life, amiright?!

An hour a day at your laptop is all it takes to slowly get things off the ground.

Now, don't mind me, I just need to go pull out the slow cooker for some batch cooking. 💪❤️
