So we’ve been very quiet on here for a while. We wanted to update everyone on our plans and what the future holds for us. It’s been a tough year and this has meant that the business has taken a back seat. We will not be attending any markets this year so we can spend time with our family.

So, the good news is we will be open again before Christmas with 2 new scents - Pear & Freesia and Black Pomegranate. These will stay as part of our collection going forwards.

The second bit of news is that our prices will be increasing. Since opening The Pouring Shed in 2020, we haven’t increased our prices and have continuously taken a hit on the increases in cost of our supplies - it all adds up. Wax has increased, fragrance oils have increased, packaging has increased - but we wanted to stay competitive and avoid setting our pricing too high so that you guys stuck around. We cannot do that anymore so the increase in prices will be from today onwards.

Pricing will be as follows -

- 180ml Candles - £16.95
- Melt Bags - £7.50
- Hand & Body Wash - £11.95
- Hand & Body Lotion - £11.95

We will announce further pricing on other products as we go into 2025. The increases don’t mean you get any less from us - we will still put heart and soul into creating the products as we always do. If we lose some of you after the price increases, then so be it. But for the ones who stick around for and continue to support us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We are now closed until January 2024 for a well needed break. We wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has chatted to us, shopped with us, visited us at markets, given our products as gifts and everyone who shares our local business. Lots of local businesses are struggling since the cost of living crisis began and we need to support them more than ever or we risk losing them. At times throughout the year, we have struggled for orders and it can be really disheartening. We are lucky that our business runs alongside 2 full time jobs so we don’t rely on the income like others do - we need to support local more than ever!

We really appreciate all the shops that stock our products - thank you for trusting us! The most important thank you is to you guys, our customers and friends. We have got to know lots of you over the last 3 years and it’s been amazing seeing people come to markets specifically to visit us. We can’t ever thank you enough!

We will reopen in January after a nice break but in the meantime, have a great Christmas, new year and see you all in 2024!

Our brand new 250ml gold tins in all 3 Christmas scents will be available today at 4pm. These tins feel so festive and would make great gifts or stocking fillers - or even treat yourself! The label is textured with a one off design especially for the winter season and the tins can be recycled after use.

We are excited to share our collaboration with K Ceramics for our Christmas ceramic candles. Kate has made 3 designs for us which will be filled with 3 scents.

Background - K Ceramics is a small ceramics studio run by Kate Clark. Kate is a trained graphic designer, who had always wanted to translate her two-dimensional ideas into three dimensions. Clay gave her the perfect medium with which to express the tactile qualities she wanted to combine with her background. Since 2016, with professional development and experimentation, she has evolved a style that she enjoys using and looking at. “I'm very much inspired by Japanese simplicity and appreciation of the hand made. I combine this with tactile textures and patterns derived from what I see around me. I enjoy making small batches or one of a kind pieces.”

Nadolig Llawen - A warm citrus spice fragrance with top notes of orange, lemon & mandarin, a heart of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, litsea & orange flower, completed with smooth vanilla and patchouli. This scent is available in the straight vertical carved pot (picture 1).

Christmas Tree - A rich Herbal fragrance dominated by Siberian Pine alongside Eucalyptus & Precious Woods. This scent is available in the horizontal carved pot (picture 3).

By The Fire - An intensely rich and full aroma leading with crisp top notes of bergamot, lemon leaf and warming spices, enhanced by fresh eucalyptus, tender lavender and summer geranium. The base of this fragrance is exotic and full with red cedar, massoia wood, amber, frankincense and musks. This scent is available in the straight and angled carved pot (picture 5).

We have very limited number of these - once they are gone we will have no more.

Working away behind the scenes to bring you guys some amazing pots this Christmas. The potter who we are working with this year doesn’t just make great pots for candles, she makes a lot of VERY VERY nice things. We will reveal all the details throughout the coming week but what I will say is that we have 3 different designs and 3 scents to choose from. They are very small batch and we haven’t done as many as in previous years as they will be very exclusive. These are also our first pots since last Christmas. We are sure you will love them!!

Hand & Body Lotion: Our new lotions are available in the same scents as the hand & body washes and compliment each other so well. They are not oily or greasy like some lotions - they leave your skin soft and moisturised. A great addition to your kitchen sink or bathroom, waterproof labels and a lovely gift. We also have refills available in each scent so you don’t have to keep buying the bottles!

Introducing our new Hand & Body Washes. There are 3 scents available - Cassis & Fig, Relaxing and Rock Salt & Driftwood. The labels are waterproof and the bottles are 250ml and refillable.

When the bottle is empty, you simply buy a refill and empty the contents into the bottle. They smell incredible and can be used around the sink or in the shower. We hope you like them.

Bluebell & Honeysuckle: We released this scent last year and it was very popular - so much so that we have brought it back this year with a twist. We have teamed up this fantastic spring scent with this aptly themed Wild Flower tin. The tin can be reused as a flower pot, storage tin or general decoration. We have limited numbers on these. They will be released on Monday alongside our new Hand & Body Washes.

We are excited to reveal our latest limited edition scent just in time for Valentines - Black Orchid. Top notes of ylang ylang, bergamot and truffle, a heart of orchid and lotus wood complimented by a base of vanilla, vetiver, sandalwood and dark chocolate. This timeless and iconic scent has been inspired by the designer Tom Ford. This really does smell amazing!
