Day 5 of the Social mddia challenge.

Today is about analytics and what tupe of posts do the best. My best posts are the more personal posts. In today's world of AI people are seeking the personal touch, to know the person behind the business.

In that light, I will share a recent special moment, having my first real cuddles of my newest grand daughter. She has not had the easiest starts to life, being ill and staying in hospital with a virus. She is now thriving at 7 weeks, Unfortunatdly with my broken knee it is impossible to visit her as their flat is up 2 fligjts of very steep stairs.

Day 4 of the social media challenge.

I have had many challenges in running Clandycottage especially switching to making good quality candles. I am still learning things along the way. One of the biggest challenges was to have good long lasting scent. I found blogs, youtube videos and pinterest very useful. The different brands are also very helpful in guiding the percentage you need for the weight of the type of wax used. Sourcing the best value, and quality scent is also a challenge so I use two different well known companies now after trying various makes

Today is day 2 of the Social media challenge. It is my creative story.

Clandycottage had its beginnings when my husband had a stroke in 2018 and was unable to work. We needed to suppliment my income. He was able to work with wood and I was making jewellery, which we sold at a few Christmas fairs in 2019.

During Covid I had a change of direction due to having to use what I had in stash. I began with making teacup pincushions and teacup candles. I also fell in love with gonks which were just starting to be the rage in USA. I opened my Etsy shop over Easter 2021 and the name is my husband's and my name combined, Claire and Andy. Things then grew from there.

At the end of 2024 my gonks were not selling and so I looked at other lines, i wanted something people use and be decorative. I have always loved working with fragrances making soaps etc as gifts but the legal side was very costly and restrictive. So I decided to start making candles and other home fragrance items.

I am inspired by beatiful things and nature, flowers especially.

Good morning all, what are your plans today?

I am having a chilled day today as I think I did too much yesterday and my back complained. I did manage too go to our small ladies bible study last evening which was great. I am missing seeing my friends being stuck at home..

Today I am starting a social media challenge by Cindy Mobey - Freelance Writer . It is all about brands today.

Clandycottaage is a cosy whimsical haven of handmade home fragrances and rustic decor. The shop blends cottagecore charm, artisan craftsmanship and a touch of playsul magic.

The three phrases I would describe my business would be

Cottagecore Charm - repurposed china and wallart
Home fragrance - delicious scented candles, wax melts and wax sachets
Whimsical - cute gonks and highland cows.

It was so lovely to see the sun today, hang tbe washing on the line and have a look in the garden.

It is great to see the lavender in flower. The hostas are in flower even though they have been ravaged by snails and slugs. One of my favourites at this time of year is the bright blue geranium.
