Happy Saturday everyone.

Today I am working on a new blog. What is the history behind using pumpkins for autumnal decor?

Traditionally they are linked to harvest festivals and thanksgiving. As real pumpkins store well for winter if uncut and they are usually large they stack well and look decorative. They come in all colours embodying the spirit of autumn, orange, cream, muted green, grey and muted pink.

In Africa they grow big flat white ones with bright orange flesh. Even the leaves are eaten as an extra vegetable. So across the globe pumpkins are a symbol of harvest and plenty.

At last it is Friday. Being back at work has been exhausting. I am working on several new items, so watch this space.

A shout out to lovely Michelle of Gonks And More for my gorgeous poppy gonk. It arrived this afternoon. My husband has already placed him on top of the corner display cabinet out of reach of clumsy small grandchildren.

I hope you are all having a good week.

Yesterday evening, together with bunch of friends, I had my first ever attempt at oil painting. This was my attempt. I did enjoy blending the back ground but my mountains need more work. I wouldn't mind having another try sometime.

Today I am just relaxing after a hard morning at work. It was one of those mornings when everything goes wrong. Enjoy your afternoon everyone.

I was working this morning and I have been doing home admin chores, registering various agenciex to find somewhere to live. I have also spent over a hour trying to cancel a subscription 😡😠😡.

Now I will go and find something fun to do.

Good morning. Do you have any plans for thes weekend?

Other than the usual weekend stuff, we have to do more sorting and packing. Someone has put in accetable offer on the house, so we are expecting to receive our notice shortly.

On another note, I had another challenge for Clandycottage this week. With the extreme heat we have had this week, the wax melts and tealights I tried to make have not set properly and almost melted. So for a little while I will stop candle making and workbon something different.
