🎫🎉 Raffle Time 🎉🎫

We've got a raffle running here at Broomstick & Paintbrush. It's running from the 14th August - 6th September. With the draw happening on the 7th September! £1 a ticket or £5 a strip. Tickets can be bought with us online, just send us a message or alternatively come see us at one of the 2 events we'll be at. We're in Volksfest Wales this weekend or you'll find us at Llanrumney Hall on the 5th and 6th of September.

The T4s are parked up, the gazebos are up and we’re officially ready for a weekend full of fun, vintage cars, vans and an amazing atmosphere! 🚐✨

August is our festival season this year by the looks! And we're not entirely upset about that 😂 I can't wait to be sat in a field with all our wares, sharing the B&P love!

Plenty of times to catch us through the month, if you want to see mostly everything we have on offer, we'll have our full stall at volksfest! So everything from witch supplies, jewellery, apparel and our biggest selection of furniture. If you've been eyeing up any of our pieces, now is the time to come see them in person! 😍🥰👀

We also do delivery to your vehicle from the field if you don't fancy walking that far with a piece of furniture. 🫶🏼✨️

This is not one of our normal light hearted posts but we pride ourselves on transparency with our followers and customers.

There seems to be a growing point of discussion of what people's feelings are toward the use of AI in a business setting and with this we feel like we need to be honest and transparent with how as a business Broomstick & Paintbrush has used AI with some of our posts.

We only use AI to produce clean backgrounds for our product images. These images you may have seen us post in the past but they are mainly for use on our website. As a small business we can't swallow the costs of a product photographer and so at present find it easier to use ai for backgrounds. We have also in the past used generative AI for one or two posts, judging by how many of you tell us your views on this matter, that will most probably stop.

We use canva for all our labels, t shirt & hoodie designs, posters you have seen on our stall such as cash is king etc. We even used canva to make this image below. We spend hours playing with designs, making images and learning new things and so feel we need to speak up as the time, effort and love does go into what we do.

I have also used AI for writeups, as sometimes I (Sam) feel like what I write makes no particular sense and so run it through AI for a small tidy up. But always proof read and rewrite what I feel doesn't feel like a personal touch.

We would love your input on this very current topic, as we've heard a few people say they wouldn't purchase from a small business that uses AI.

We just want to reiterate that just because our product images are AI generated backgrounds it has no compromise on the products we make and sell. And would be disappointed if someone seen something we do but chose not to purchase from us because of this particular topic.

We're in a quaint little town today! The lovely little village of Seven Sisters 🥰

🌳🦉 ~ The Forest Keepers ~ 🐇🌳

There's something a little bit magical about this one... ✨

Meet The Forest Keepers, a truly one-of-a-kind piece inspired by the quiet beauty and mystery of the woodland.

Taking pride of place are two guardians of the forest – the wise owl and the quick-thinking hare – watching over the enchanted woodland scenes they call home. Every detail was chosen to create a piece that feels as though it could have stepped straight out of a fairytale.

We decided to take a slightly different approach with this makeover. Instead of paint, we used a rich black stain to let the character of the wood shine through, paired with beautiful decoupage artwork, hand-painted drawer fronts, and handmade frames to bring each woodland scene to life.

It's bold, a little mysterious, and full of charm – the kind of furniture that tells a story every time you walk past it. 🌿
