Trachycarpus fortunei - Stripped trunk.

Also known as the Chusan or Windmill Palm, the Trachycarpus fortunei is an exceptionally hardy tree. These palms have had the old fibrous leaf bases removed to create a clean, striped trunk. Fast growing and requiring low maintenance, they make a lovely addition to any garden!

Don't go too far up the trunk when removing the fiber or you'll have a tragedy on your hands! (scroll to have a look)
