Pigeon Racing

They take to the skies, these feathered racers
Their wings beating fast, like the hearts of their trainers

They soar above the earth, with speed and grace

A blur of color, a beautiful sight to see
They've been trained for this, their whole lives
To fly the course, and aim for the prize

They know their route, they know their goal To be the first to cross the finish line, and claim the whole

The crowd cheers, as they watch the race The tension builds, with every pace

The finish line nears, and the pigeons strain To be the fastest, and to claim the gain

The winner crosses, with a triumphant cry
The crowd goes wild, with a rapturous sigh The champion pigeon, held aloft with pride
A hero of the skies, and the race of the tide.

During Brexit negotiations, it would seem that this approval has been overlooked. My plea is for the Secretary of State for Defra to negotiate special dispensation from the EU to accept pigeons as a temporary import, in order for Pigeon Racing to continue from France/EU and support our communities.
