Bad news… we’ve run out of room.

After just 10 weeks of trading, the situation has become impossible.

Thanks to your excessive purchasing and Eddie’s relentless over-ordering, we’ve filled the place far quicker than anyone expected. Shelves, corners, gaps, probably a few places stock shouldn’t even be.

So, with no other option left…

we’re being forced to expand.

Construction is already well underway as Wye Valley Tackle Box grows to make room for even more tackle, bait, gear and, presumably, whatever Eddie has already ordered next.

In all seriousness, it’s a great problem to have, and we’re hugely grateful for all the support so far. Every visit, purchase and recommendation over these first 10 weeks has helped make this possible.

So thank you… and please try to show a little restraint in future.

Because Eddie certainly won’t.

A MESSAGE FROM ANGLERS, FOR ANGLERS

With temperatures remaining high and many rivers running extremely low, there are understandably concerns about where fishing is currently permitted, suitable and responsible. Recent local reports describe sections of the Wye as exceptionally low, while stillwater venues and some permitted coarse-fishing stretches continue to produce fish.

Let us be completely clear: Wye Valley Tackle Box do not condone or encourage anyone to fish where fishing has been suspended, restricted or is unsuitable because of water temperature, low oxygen levels or stressed fish. Anglers should always check the latest information from the fishery, club, beat owner or relevant authority before setting out. Current Fishing Passport guidance also advises against salmon fishing when the water temperature exceeds 20°C.

However, not every lake, pond, private fishery or stretch of water is closed. There are still anglers fishing responsibly at permitted venues locally and farther afield, including people travelling outside the Wye Valley and our immediate surrounding areas.

Wye Valley Tackle Box remains open and stocked with a wide range of baits, tackle and equipment for anyone who is still able to fish safely and legally.

We would also like to use our small corner Facebook to help the angling community. Fisheries, clubs and anglers are welcome to send us confirmed information about waters that are currently open, restricted or closed, and we will gladly share it, on here and in our shop.

This page is run by anglers, for anglers. We want it to be a useful, friendly place where reliable information can be shared.

Please respect closures, protect the fish and support the fisheries that remain responsibly open.
