New!!! I decided to make a small testing batch of something I had in mind 🤔 for some time and I am very pleased with how this turned out.

It's very tricky to make a vertical piece stay upright while the base is curing. For now the only solution which comes to my head is to build 🔨 🪚 some timber frames to hold the main piece upright. Another time consuming sidetrack but if this will simplify the making process in the future... it's worth finding long term solution.

Vol.2 behind the scenes of Wave Making
When the creative stage is completed...

Several things can still go wrong during the curing time
- low air temperature will cool your resin project too fast so it doesn't reach the temperature which is needed to set hard.
- 48hrs exposure to humidity which will also affect how your resin project sets

That's why the most exciting part is in the end when you take it out of the mold and everything worked out ok... Now... You can finally take a deep breath and start another project.

Another reveal of what keeps me busy... Finally I have found time to take my Waves of Cornwall to another level.

the original design of my free-standing Waves of Cornwall (without the base) will still be available as a standard option.

I was trying to avoid creating custom made molds for each piece as this requires a lot of extra time, variety of acrylic sheets, temperature resistant tape, custom measurements.... and as a result adds to the price of the final product.

I have spent a lot of time researching what I can use as a mold to simplify and speed up the process of making base/stands but unfortunately I haven't found anything suitable in the right size.

Please comment or message me if you have a better solution for molds which can be instant and reusable 😅

I know I should make a bigger effort taking photos 📸 during the process of creating my resin art... many people who I chat with ask for it and make suggestions.
When I work with resin I simply don't think about anything else. Only later in the evening I remember I didn't take any photos again 😅

Many people who watch videos about resin art have a false impression that it must be very relaxing to work with resin. I would agree it is relaxing but to watch.

In reality it is more complex than most people imagine. All the preparations which you don't see, racing with time as resin sets fairly quickly, planning the space and stages for each project, trying to be time efficient and juggling many projects at the same time, cleaning during and after.

The word "relaxing" wouldn't come to my mind to describe it. I just love the challenge which comes with creating each individual piece.
