It’s been a while since I’ve made any new resin artwork, but now it’s cooler the studio is calling me back(and I have a Winter Fair at Victoria Baths to prepare for)
I love the shape of this aluminium art board from Lou Art and Craft Supplies and Classes from Create & Bloom Crafts and the gorgeous Almost Midnight pigment. Absolutely loving the breaking waves and cells - such drama 🌊

I’ve had to make Siren Selkie unavailable on Localito Marketplace for a while. If you’d like to see her IRL, I’m so proud to say that she’s been accepted to the Salford Art Gallery Open Art Exhibition.
The exhibition opens on 19th September until November 29th.

I can’t wait to see her in the gallery - so excited 😊

I was fully expecting to be bringing my Siren Selkie back home with me from Salford Museum & Art Gallery yesterday, so it came as a bit of a surprise that it was my embroidery piece that wasn’t successful.
I’m super proud and happy that I have a piece that’s going to be in this wonderful exhibition. I don’t envy the judges, it must have been an extremely difficult thing to do with so many wonderful entries.

I entered 2 pieces for the Salford Open Exhibition, it’s so popular and such a wonderful opportunity. I received an email to say that one of my pieces had been unsuccessful BUT the other has been accepted! It’s such a strange mix of emotions but I’m delighted that one has been accepted into the exhibition. I won’t know until tomorrow when I go to collect the unsuccessful piece.

I think the Oceans Veil embroidery will be the piece that’s been accepted, what do you think?

I’ve bee trying to post this since Monday but didn’t work! Almost 2 weeks since Abberettes and Failsworth Pop Choir concert and it’s all been such a since then.
Arya and I went off to Oxford on the saturday morning to meet up with and .knauff for a reunion that’ had been 3 years in planning.

We went to the Oxford Academy Arts and Crafts Summerschool, we had a papermarbling and stitched leather notebook class, mono printing and batik class, and a goldwork bee embroidery class, as well as doing touristy walk around Oxford and lunch at the Ivy! Great local bakery called Proof near the house we rented and gorgeous walks for Arya. I’m still dealing with the drying out from water damage to my house so it was a lovely escape - want to do it all again!

The next stage of abstract seascape, glitter and mica powders and a wee bit of moss added. Might have got a bit carried away with the glitter but had so much fun.
Next to seal the layer, and final stage next week will be to top coat with a final layer of resin.
