The first wedding of the season for the amazing S*M... Oh guys it was a beautiful weekend. I actually have so much to show you from this weekend because Mr Chaos was on hand and helped with all the content and the heavy lifting 🤣

WEDDING FLASHBACK
I wanted to end this year, how it began. With the wonderful Emma & Mark!!

There is so much I can say about this beautiful couple. Emma & Mark live in Scotland and I will travel pretty much anywhere but to date this is the most miles travelled. I felt like we immediately clicked, and as I often do I completely lost my mind at their mood board. Emma had an inspo pic of a crescent moon as a backdrop and I promised I would do anything to make it happen. So I create, source and external hire items as well as have a huge stock room called "Chaos Corner" that I use to pull things together. Could I find a Crescent Moon in Scotland? No... So I had no choice. I made one, with some help from loaded it into a van and we drove it to Scotland! The benefit of this? I added custom lighting, it fitted the theme perfectly and the couple got to keep it as a focal point in their home.

I will do a post soon on styled alternatives to place cards but for these guys I custom made Agate slices which added so much beauty to the table scapes.

Their Venue was absolutely stunning, Sloans in Glasgow! A listed Building which can be a bit tricky to style in due to limitations about what can be moved etc... A venue full of character can be just as difficult to style as an empty room. I covered the curtains with fabric to match the other areas of screening we created and added a dark and moody atmosphere.

Well I think we really pulled it off!

WEDDING FLASHBACK
A beautiful intimate wedding for Jas & Scott set in an iconic building! The Edition London. I don't think I've ever been involved in a more heartfelt wedding. A room full of their nearest and dearest for a ceremony and dinner and down to the gorgeous bar for cocktails.

A wedding doesn't to be a huge extravagant affair with multiple moving parts to be amazing and memorable. We pulled together the styling for this in a few weeks, we spoke about what Jas & Scott saw their day looking like and they left the rest to me.

WEDDING FLASHBACK
Ok this one is super special... Because when I became a wedding stylist pretty much all my friends had already gotten married (sorry guys) so I haven't been able to work for my loved ones... Well that changed this year when I had the honour of styling my brothers wedding! Adam & Amelia got married at the stunning Matara Centre. It was an absolute dream come true, now bear in mind I attend a lot of weddings. Each one is so special but watching my baby brother marry the love of his life, I cried all day!

Ok back to the styling, custom designed table prints of all the music venues Adam & Amelia love to visit. The view of the ceremony location turned into a watercolour painting as a background for the table plan and a custom guestbook poster for guests to sign with their first dance song. An audio guestbook, the recordings of which make the video of the day extra special. Photos of their adventures hanging from branches in the wonderful gardens that surround the venue. Not forgetting the giant letters that make an amazing selfie area. Covering all of the outside area with lanterns and candles, it was just stunning.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

WEDDING FLASHBACK
The amazing Georgie & Keian, I think this is the wedding that really encompassed their personalities so perfectly. Georgie spoke so passionately about how she wanted to create different areas for her guests, so we did!
Hwyl - The Fun. The gaming area, surrounded by colourful led lights
Cwtch - The Cuddle, The comfy lounge in the venue with books and family photos
Awen - The Creative, With a lego station stationed around the wonderful

For the tables I custom made table names which were based on the music studio's where Keian has recorded. I custom dip-dyed table runners in the couple's chosen colours, beautiful pastel's!

Now Georgie & Keian are hugely into games and so we made a book for each of the guests with the order of the day, games and family recipes which was such an amazing aspect of the day.

SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT
This was an easy choice for me, the amazing Aliya!! I got the opportunity to work a wedding with her this year. I am sure anyone who has met her will agree she is one of those people who is just has a beautiful soul and to say she has found her calling as a celebrant would be an understatement! I love the way she holds the couple in the centre of the celebration, watching her with them you would think they were old friends. Again I'm going to mention her wonderful energy that fills the room!

I specifically wanted to shout Aliya out as we had a conversation that has stayed with me ever since and it went something like this... She was being bloody lovely and complimenting my work, to which I replied in a moment of self doubt "does it? I struggle sometimes to see the whole picture, I see the components, the number of candles, the flowers, what I need to set out" To which she replied with a wonderful warm smile, "So you are like a chef? You taste the ingredients while everyone else gets to enjoy the whole meal!" It was like a lightbulb moment! At each and every wedding ever since, I take a moment soak in what I have created and try to enjoy the meal! It has totally changed my world and I will be forever thankful to Aliya for that insight!
