JOES JET JEWELLERY

ReeVive Fair – Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Monday 26th May, 2025

Introducing JOES JET JEWELLERY and its artisan craftsman owner Joe.

Born and bred in Robin Hoods Bay Joe started out his jewellery journey in 2008, collecting Whitby Jet, designing and hand crafting his beautiful Whitby Jet Jewellery.

Self-taught, Joe developed his craft over the years, initially making pieces for sale in Whitby's Jet Jewellery Shops, later offering his creations for sale from his Victorian style Handcart and online to a growing number of customers.

Joe recently opened ‘’Joes Jet Jewellery’’ in Robin Hoods Bay where you can purchase items directly, place bespoke commissions and will eventually be able to witness Joe Jet working in person.

Joe creates both modern and classical jewellery designs in 925 Silver incorporating the finest Whitby Jet, Baltic Amber and Fordite ‘’I make a wide variety of pieces with my Jet Pillow Hearts and Ear Studs being very popular with customers’’

‘’I like all aspects of my craft, but I particularly enjoy the Jetting (collecting the Jet) and creating Jewellery that can be handed down to future generations. It’s nice to see someone wearing a piece of my jewellery’’

‘’I’m influenced and inspired by my upbringing in Robin Hoods Bay, Nature, the East Coast and other Whitby Jet Carvers’’

Introducing Aromatherapy Handmade Candles by Patty-Ann and its highly skilled level 2 Reiki Practitioner owner Patricia.

‘’I have been interested in the Tarot and Mediumship for about 25 years, I bought my first deck of Tarot about 15 years ago but was a little scared about learning them’’

‘’In 2017 I met a lady from my hometown Middlesbrough whilst on holiday in Turkey, we became great friends. She was a Reiki Master and taught me Reiki and attuned me to a level 2 practitioner’’

‘’She also taught me how to read Tarot, giving me the confidence to read them and gifted me a deck of Tarot Cards which I still use’’

Establishing her business in October 2024, Patty-Ann started hand making Aromatherapy Candles and Wax Melts. Using Eco Friendly Rapeseed & Coconut Waxes infused with Reiki and Crystals catering for Stress & Anxiety, Sleep Therapy, Calm, Uplifting, and Third Eye Chakra.

Introducing RITA MAE and its creative talent Rachel.

The business name is made up of a combination of Rachel (Rita for short) along with three generations of Ritas on her Mums side and Lily Mae, Rachels Daughter.

'’ I started about five or six years ago seeking out old furniture, mainly old school desks and breathing new life into them’’

‘’This has developed over the years into rescuing all types of materials and creating new items such as Bags, Bunting, Doggy Bandanas, Hair Accessories, Clothing and much more. I’m always on the lookout for all kinds of things to rescue and my products evolve as a result’’

‘’My most popular items, apart from my bags that I make from pre-loved curtains, clothing or bedding are the second-hand denim jackets that I print my unique designs onto’’

‘’I’m proud to say that I absolutely love my business’’ – as Confucius says ‘’Choose a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life’’

‘’I feel that I spend my days fulfilling my hobby and play my little part in preventing items from ending up in landfills and give them life again’’

CHISEL MONKEY

ReeVive Fair – Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Monday 26th May, 2025

Introducing Chisel Monkey and its hugely talented creator Mike Dillon.

If you attended the Coronation Fair in Saltburn in 2023 you’ll be no stranger to Mikes creations and his skill in playing them.

Mike started Chisel Monkey in 2018 and ramped up his production during lock-down, making Musical Instruments, Toys, Bowls & Pens mostly from recycled timber in his small workshop in Hebden Bridge.

Undoubtedly his most popular products are his range of amazing 3-String Cigar Box Guitars, Mandolins and Basses.

Mike says ‘’I Design, Source Materials, Build & Market all of the products myself.... selling largely face to face with customers which is very rewarding. Making the Instruments in particular is using materials already to hand or which would otherwise be binned’’

Mikes influences stem from Years in Germany admiring the strong traditions of Woodturning and more recently the original American musicians who built guitars from whatever they could find – boxes, wire, nuts & bolts.

Introducing Suzie Ison Textiles and its amazing creative talent Suzie Ison.

Suzie started her business around five years ago, working from a studio at the bottom of her garden in Richmond.

Originally Studying Art & Design and later doing a free Machine & Embroidery Course led to Suzie making her most popular product ‘’My most popular products are quirky lampshades which I make from Vintage & Recycled Fabric, I don’t throw anything away including nets you get fruit in..... these are reused to become Fishermans Nets’’

‘’I do a lot of commissions for clients, especially gardens but mostly I like designing and making lampshades, I get ideas by walking on a beach, in the countryside or just from my imagination’’

VINTIQUE RETRO CHIC DESIGNS

Introducing Vintique Retro Chic Designs and its highly talented creative owner Joanne.

Founded in 2015, Joanne started doing upholstery as a bit of a hobby, upcycling chairs bought at second hand shops and selling them on Ebay.

‘’Once people started to see my products, I started getting commission work which was my main focus until after covid’’ seeing a bit of a dip in the market Joanne diversified into making Cushions, Footstools, Smaller Chairs and Fabric Banners to sell online as well as Markets.

Joanne says ‘’I do love sourcing Vintage pieces and giving them a new lease of life and prevent them going to landfill’’

‘’I have recently been getting into creating unique designs on Canva and printing them onto fabric to make my Banners’’

Joanne states her influences as ‘’80s Music, 70s Style Furniture & Fabric, having a love for Frida Khalo, Alice in Wonderland and bright Maximalist designs’’

‘’My most popular product has to be my one-off design chairs’’
