…but not goodbye. You may have noticed I’ve not been very active in recent months and there is a reason for this. Handmade by Heyhoe was always a side project to my full time job, it’s been something which keeps my brain busy and I have loved to do, however in order to make this a sustainable side hustle it requires a lot of social media presence and interaction; making it extremely difficult to balance between work and home life. Social media giants make it increasingly difficult for independent businesses to reach an audience without investing a considerable amount of time and money to ensure they keep up with their analytics, something which I don’t have without sacrificing time away from other things that are important to me. On top of that, the competition is high now with more and more independent artisans maintaining (quite rightly) a gold standard of product - all of which require financial investment. As someone who wants to ensure this standard is met and hopefully exceeded, it has become a bigger job than I had anticipated. So with this I will be taking a break from actively selling. My Etsy page will closed for the time being and I will pause any products requests.
I’ll be holding a sale throughout April or until all stock is gone. Keep your eyes peeled and make sure you’re following me to see what bargains can be had.
I won’t be gone completely but my posts will take a different approach and I’d like to say thank you so much for those who have supported this small enterprise. It has been such fun!
