✨ WE’RE HIRING! ✨
Retail Coordinator – Indie Revival CIC
We’re looking for a brilliant new Retail Coordinator to join the team at Indie Revival and take a key role in the day-to-day running of our growing creative retail and community space in Scarborough.
📍 Scarborough Town Centre
⏰ 35 hours per week
📅 Fixed-term contract until 30 April 2027
🛍️ Weekend availability required
The role is initially fixed-term due to our current funding arrangements. However, our intention is very much for the role to continue beyond April as Indie Revival grows and develops and we secure our longer-term sustainability.
About Indie Revival
Indie Revival is much more than a traditional shop.
We've created a space in the heart of Scarborough where local artists, makers, creatives and independent businesses can showcase and sell their work, without the barriers and costs associated with having their own high street premises.
We're currently home to 77 independent sellers, and alongside the shop we're developing an exciting programme of workshops, creative activities, networking, events and community projects.
We've grown quickly, and now we need someone brilliant to help us keep everything running smoothly!
About the role
As our Retail Coordinator, you'll play a key part in the everyday running of Indie Revival.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening, closing and running the shop
- Providing friendly and welcoming customer service
- Receiving and processing new stock
- Using and maintaining our till and stock systems
- Helping keep displays fresh, attractive and well stocked
- Monitoring stock levels and liaising with sellers when required
- Responding to general enquiries
- Helping promote Indie Revival and our creatives
- Keeping the shop and wider space clean, organised and welcoming
- Helping us continue to develop Indie Revival and bringing your own ideas to the role
There will be plenty of variety — no two days at Indie are quite the same!
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is:
✨ Friendly, approachable and confident talking to people
✨ Reliable, organised and able to use their own initiative
✨ Comfortable taking responsibility for the shop
✨ Creative and enthusiastic
✨ Confident using basic IT, email and social media
✨ Happy working independently as well as part of a small team
✨ Able to juggle different tasks and priorities
✨ Passionate about supporting independent businesses and local creatives
✨ Willing to get stuck in and help wherever needed
Previous retail experience would be helpful, but finding the right person is more important to us than finding someone who ticks every box.
We're looking for someone who understands what we're trying to build and will genuinely care about Indie Revival, our sellers, our customers and the community we're creating around it.
Working hours
The position is for 35 hours per week.
Weekend availability is essential. Most weekend working will be on Saturdays, as we currently have Sundays covered, but you will need to be available to work Sundays when required, for example to cover holidays or sickness.
Some flexibility may also occasionally be required around events, workshops and other activities.
About the contract
This role is offered on a fixed-term basis until 30 April 2027 due to the current funding available for the position.
However, Indie Revival is working towards a sustainable long-term model and seeking additional funding and income opportunities. Our plan is for the position to continue beyond the initial funded period, subject to the ongoing development and financial sustainability of the project.
