🤫 We’ve Been a Little Quiet Lately… Here’s Why! 👀

If you’ve noticed our social channels have been completely silent over the last six months, it’s for the absolute best reasons possible. Behind the scenes, life and business have been moving at 100 miles an hour, and we have some massive updates to share with you all!

👶 Our Newest (and Best) Bundle of Joy
First and most importantly, our family grew! Photo 3! We’ve been completely wrapped up in baby bubbles, endless cuddles, and adjusting to parenthood. We are so incredibly in love with our beautiful daughter, who is now 4 months old. She has been our ultimate passion project, and we’ve been soaking up every single second.

🎪 Branching Out Into Events Management
On the business side, we’ve officially expanded our horizons and branched out into Events Management! To kick things off, we recently planned, coordinated, and ran our very first major event: The Food & Fire Feastival at Birley Moor Garden Centre & Grandpa Joe's Potting Shed. It was an absolute whirlwind, but thanks to an incredible team, support and turnout including our amazing community, it was a massive success! Watching the vision come to life was unforgettable, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to support it.

🐴 Sports Horse Development Update
Don't worry... we haven't forgotten our besties! The sports horse development side of the business is still very much alive, kicking, and close to our hearts. We post on our Walkernova Sports Horse page for this showcasing the brand. We have been balancing the stables with events and a newborn which has been a masterclass in time management, but the horses are thriving and we can't wait to share more updates on them soon.

Thank you all so much for your patience, to our family who believed in us, while we stepped away from the screen to focus on building our business and our family. We are so excited for this next chapter and can't wait to take you all along for the ride!

Something "cool" is happening this weekend, and we need your help! 🥶

Winston the Polar Bear has decided to play a massive game of hide-and-seek, and he’s brought his chilly friends along for the ride.

Grab the kids, put on your favourite winter gear, and head down for our Polar Bear Weekend! It’s going to be a "snow-stopping" adventure for the whole family - minus the snow, although we have snow shovels and sledges if needs be 👀

Winston and his buddies are tucked away among the ferns, hiding behind the pots, and lounging near the saplings.

To find Winston and his friends hidden around the Garden Centre head to the front desk, collect a map and explore the areas marked on the map!

Remember to snap a selfie with Winston and share on socials! Once checked off your list as you explore, report back to the front desk to claim your explorer reward! 😍

Don't forget on Saturday there will be a polar bear story reading with Revd Dave between 1pm-2pm up in our Tipi!

🚨CALLING ALL EXPLORERS🚨

Get ready for a bear-y big adventure! On Saturday, February 28th, we’re celebrating International Polar Bear Day, and things are getting wild at Birley Moor Garden Centre 🐻‍❄️

Winston, our resident (and slightly mischievous) polar bear, has decided to go on a wander around the centre, and he’s brought some friends along for the ride. We need YOUR help to find them! 👀🔍

There is to be a site wide Great Polar Bear Treasure Hunt! So, grab the kids, channel your inner explorer, bring the binoculars and join us all weekend long for a frosty quest between Friday 27th February right through to Sunday, March 1st ❄️

The Birley Moor Garden Centre team need your help to track down Winston and his hidden polar bear pals tucked away, they may be among the plants and pots or up at Grandpa Joe's awaiting a fresh fish delicacy! 😁

We’re proud to be working alongside the incredible work of Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Every explorer makes a difference for polar bear conservation in the real world! Look out for our fact sheets over the coming weeks detailing some fascinating facts!

Come join us for a perfect outdoor activity to burn off some weekend energy. Head to our front tills to collect your treasure hunt sheet and off you go! If you do complete the hunt you'll be in for a chance to win some cool treats! 🥰

A great activity for the family..
You are all invited to join our resident Bird Ringing expert William Warhurst to take part in the worlds largest wildlife survey, the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 2026 🐦‍⬛

The morning will consist of observing the bird activity within the Garden Centre grounds and possibly even meet the birds if they come close enough!

This is a free to attend event with no ticket required.
