📜💀 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗺𝘂𝗺𝗺𝘆, 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺! ⚱️🖤

From ancient tombs to modern outfits, this tiny mummy can be used to accessorise a work lanyard, cosy cardigan, or even an autumnal jacket. 🍂🎃

He’s made from a mix of shimmery pearlescent, beige, black, and white acrylics, and the pin fastening is a round alloy butterfly fixture. 🌻

Mummies have captured our imagination for centuries, and I wanted to add a modern twist to a magical supernatural Halloween character. ✨❤️‍🔥

I also made a smaller pendant necklace of just the mummy’s cute face, to match the other spooky character necklaces available in my shop. 💀📜

This guy measures 4cm x 4cm, which is the same as the matching brooch design, and he’s mounted on a bright white acrylic backing plate. 🌻

He’d be great for Halloween events or a cute addition to an everyday autumn outfit. Wear this necklace as your immortal spooky sidekick! 🎃

Ancient mummies are fascinating, and there’s loads of cool history behind them. 💀

Mummification is most famously associated with ancient Egypt, but it was practiced in many cultures worldwide (including South America, Asia, and parts of Europe). 👻🖤
For Egyptians, it wasn’t just about preservation - it was a spiritual process. They believed the body needed to remain intact so the soul (the ka and ba) could recognise it and live on in the afterlife. ✨

I made the body for this mummy necklace slightly larger than his brooch version, measuring approx. 6.5cm x 4.5cm, and it hangs from an 18” silver-plated chain with curb-style links. 🧡

I like to think this little fellow was once buried with lots of gold treasures and charms, but he now prefers chocolate and lollipops. 🍫🍭 ..the perfect priorities for Halloween! 🎃

I’ve also been preparing a statement pendant necklace of the full-body Halloween mummy. 💀❤️‍🩹

Here he is holding his trick-or-treat bucket, ready for some modern Halloween adventures, instead of the usual ancient Egyptian treasures. 📜🌻

Mummies often symbolise rebirth and transformation. Trick-or-treating is a modern “transformation” tradition too - dressing up as something spooky (or cute!) for one magical night. 🎭✨

In ancient times, offerings were left for the dead to take to the afterlife. Today? We leave sweets for little ghouls and goblins knocking at our doors on Halloween night. 👻🕯️

I think my mummy necklace incorporates a touch of history with a bucket of treats - capturing both ideas in a playful, wearable way. 🍫 History and Halloween in one adorable design 🎃🖤
