Inspired by the little feathered visitors to my garden 🐦

& a beautiful length of Silver Birch, that those visitors may once have sat in. 🌳

I'm creating my newest pyrography art collection: "Feathered Favourites"

Cut & sanded, each of these pieces are now ready to be hand burnt with a unique British wild bird design.

I nearly didn't share this! 🙈

Last week was a long week so by Friday I was ready for a glass of wine & a relaxing evening. 🍷

Then I got this incredible news!

As you can see my poor brain tried to have all the emotions at the same time & it glitched a bit! 😅

The insane level of talent on show at the Southern Nature Art exhibition makes being the runner up for the public vote even more mind blowing!

To think, at the beginning of this year, I just wanted to say I'd entered the exhibition. I'd have been happy even if I didn't get in, knowing I'd at least tried!

So thank you so much to everyone who supported me & even voted for my owl wood burning. 🙏🏼

Maybe I need to really start believing in myself!? Although there is a voice in the back of my head saying Jamie probably got 3000 votes & I got 3 🤣

Can't wait to start planning for my gallery window! When I know more you'll know more 😉

Holiday or business trip? 💁🏼‍♀️

Ok, so definitely a holiday but that doesn't mean I wasn't busy gathering inspiration for some new projects while I recharged the batteries.

The story behind 'The Last Hollow' runs deeper than the burn marks on the wood.

I had an idea in my head but it wasn't until I started to do my research that I realised how powerful that idea was.

Ancient woodland habitat is one of our most precious landscapes in the UK, home to countless wonderful plants & animals.

My hope is that 'The Last Hollow' will be a reminder to all who view it of the importance of protecting the natural world.

Because that gnarly broken down old tree, could be someone's perfect home 🦉
