A nice bit of history this one 👇

The Fiat S76 (AKA ‘The Beast of Turin’) was built purely for speed records, and back in 1911 it reportedly hit around 132 mph (212 km/h) 😳

That might not sound insane today—but in 1911… that was absolutely terrifying speed:
• No proper brakes
• No safety gear
• Dirt/sand surfaces
• Basically a rocket with wheels

There were claims it even went faster, but records back then were a bit… sketchy 😅

Still, imagine doing 130+ mph sat behind a 28.4L engine… no brakes… no safety harness (b’cos if it crashed they would WANT to be thrown as far away from it as possible 😳)… nothing but guts holding it together… different breed entirely 🔥

The Fiat S76 AKA ‘the Beast of Turin’ was built purely for speed records, and back in 1911 it reportedly hit around 132 mph (212 km/h) 😳

The Ferrari “Dino” wasn’t named after a place or model type—it was named after a person: Alfredo Ferrari, the son of Enzo Ferrari.

Alfredo Ferrari was nicknamed “Dino”. He was deeply involved in Ferrari’s early engineering work. He helped develop Ferrari’s V6 engine concept.

Sadly, Dino died in 1956 at just 24 years old from muscular dystrophy.

After his death, Enzo Ferrari used the name “Dino” to honour him. It applied to V6 and V8 engines (instead of Ferrari’s traditional V12s) and used ‘Dino’ as a sub-brand for certain cars (like the Dino 206 GT & 246 GT). Early Dino cars didn’t even wear the Ferrari badge—just the Dino name.

It wasn’t just branding—it was personal.

The Dino name represents a tribute from father to son… A legacy of engineering innovation and still remains one of Ferrari’s most emotional chapters.
