A slightly different approach to aeration… 😉
We’ve been trialling a new method of aeration using Ninja tines, made from Japanese steel, which pull a small 4mm core from the greens.
At 2-inch spacing, this removes around 1% of the surface area. By comparison, our traditional 9mm tines at 2.5-inch spacing remove around 1.6%, while also causing considerably more disruption to the playing surface.
The advantage of the Ninja tines is that we can carry out this work 4–5 times throughout the year, allowing us to continually improve air and water movement through the profile while keeping disruption to an absolute minimum.
Less disruption. Better playing surfaces. More frequent aeration✔️
The aim is to keep the greens performing at their best without compromising the quality of play , with virtually no noticeable effect on ball roll or disruption to golfers.
