Finding my way back to me. ❤️
For a long time, I believed I wasn't enough.
Growing up, I experienced bullying, and family life wasn't always easy. I heard words and experienced things that stayed with me long after the moments had passed.
When you're young, you don't always have the words to explain how those experiences make you feel. So you adapt. You keep going. You learn to put on a brave face.
But underneath that brave face was a girl who desperately wanted to feel accepted.
A girl who wanted someone to say, “You are enough exactly as you are.”
Instead, I spent years feeling like I needed to change.
To fit in.
To be quieter.
To be different.
To be more like everyone else.
Then I found my husband. ❤️
Finding someone who truly sees you, accepts you and loves you for who you are has taught me something I wish that younger version of me had known:
❤️ I never needed to earn my worth. I already had it.
Life hasn't always been easy since then.
There have been setbacks, hurt, disappointment and moments when I've questioned myself.
But there has also been so much joy.
❤️ My husband.
❤️ My family.
❤️ Creativity.
❤️ Daisy Amour.
❤️ The people who believe in me.
❤️ And discovering the woman I am becoming.
Daisy Amour is about individuality because I know what it feels like to hide yours.
I don't want anyone to feel they have to fit into a box to be accepted.
I want to celebrate the colourful, unusual, wonderfully imperfect parts of ourselves.
And I'm learning to do that for myself too.
I'm learning that I don't need permission to be happy.
I can be brave.
I can create.
I can laugh loudly.
I can wear the colourful clothes.
I can make the unusual things.
I can take up space.
I can simply be me.
For years, other people's opinions became part of the way I saw myself.
Now I'm taking that identity back.
Maybe I'm not “too much”.
Maybe I'm finally understanding that I am enough.
And to the little girl I once was, I would say:
You made it.
You are loved.
You are worthy.
You are enough.
I'm still writing my story.
And I genuinely believe the best chapters are still to come. ❤️
This is me.
This is my story.
And I'm finally learning to be unapologetically myself.
