For those of you squeezing in a last-minute woolly visit, here are our opening times this week leading up to Christmas:

• Saturday 20th – Open 11-4:30
• Monday 22nd – Open 11-4:30 (extra day for last-minute shoppers)
• Tuesday 23rd – Open 11-4:30
• Wednesday 24th – Closed
• Christmas Day – Closed
• Boxing Day – Closed

Introducing the Coppafeel Bandana Kit!

In November, I’ll be swapping the dye pots for desert sands when I’ll be walking over 100km across the Sahara for the breast cancer awareness charity !

Mum and I have created something really special to help raise funds, our brand-new Coppafeel Bandana Kits. Each kit includes ten joyful shades of yarn hand-dyed by me, plus the pdf pattern for a quick-knit bandana inspired by the colours of the rising sun and the star filled night sky above the Sahara all wrapped up in a pink project bag.

All profits from the sale of the Coppafeel Bandana Yarn Kit will be donated to my fundraiser in aid of ! and our goal is to sell at least 100 kits and to raise a minimum of £2000 for this amazing charity.

A brand new workshop this October here at Assa Marra Wool Studio is this fantastic rag rugging workshop hosted by Jill McCrink.

Re-discover a time-honoured Lake District craft — tufted rag rugging using fabric scraps and a spring hook. In this full-day workshop, rag-rugging expert Jill McCrink will teach you how to make both shaggy and short shaggy rugs, from selecting fabrics to spacing tufts, using a spring hook, and planning design elements.

What’s included:
- Hessian backing, spring hook, wooden measure gauge
- Two balls of UK wool selvedge (about 500g of rag strips)
- All materials & refreshments (lunch not included)
- 10% discount on in-store purchases the day of the class

With over two decades of teaching experience and books including Vintage Shetland Project, Evolution, Echoes, A Stitch in Time 1 & 2, and her latest A Stitch in Time 3: The Colourwork Edition, Susan brings warm, expert guidance in a relaxed, friendly setting.

In this full-day class you’ll knit from one of Susan’s patterns and learn:
– How to knit with two colours on one row and hold your yarn
– Working in the round on circular needles
– Reading charts
– Carrying floats and weaving colours neatly
– Darning in ends
