🚨 MET OFFICE RED WARNING: BRITISH PEOPLE EXPERIENCING SUNSHINE 🚨

Temperatures are expected to reach a catastrophic 21 degrees, triggering mass behavioural changes across the UK.

Authorities are urging the public to remain calm, although this is unlikely.

Expected incidents include:

• at least 14 men suddenly believing they’re on Love Island despite looking like undercooked pork
• dads saying “corrr this is proper weather” every 11 minutes like it’s new information
• someone buying 48 burgers for a BBQ attended by 6 people
• the annual disappearance of every top, regardless of whether anyone asked for that

Please be aware of escalating warning signs:

⚠️ a bloke called Darren dragging a speaker into the front garden at 10:13am
⚠️ children appearing from nowhere like feral meerkats asking for ice lollies
⚠️ someone mowing the lawn while six cans deep
⚠️ a neighbour who’s never spoken to you suddenly becoming aggressively social

HIGH RISK INDICATORS:

❌ a paddling pool full of lager
❌ a nan in a camping chair supervising the entire street like MI5
❌ someone shouting “GET THE TOMATO SAUCE” like it’s a medical emergency
❌ a shirtless uncle explaining cryptocurrency to trapped neighbours
❌ a Bulldog lying spread-eagle in the shade like a Victorian fainting victim

If travelling to your local corner shop, essential safety gear includes:

• sunglasses
• £2.50 for a Calippo and regret
• a fake “sorry mate, just on a call” performance
• enough emotional strength to hear “you enjoying the weather then?” seventeen times

IMPORTANT:

Should you hear “OI DAVE, GET THE DECKCHAIRS OUT,” this means the situation has progressed beyond recovery.

This is no longer a weather event.

This is a full-scale British public disorder incident with burgers, Basshunter, and bad decisions.

Hi Stevenage Borough Council,

I wanted to raise some concerns following trading at the indoor market pop-up in Stevenage Town Centre yesterday.

As a small independent business trader, I was really disappointed with the experience. My stall was positioned in an area with very little footfall or customer activity, which had a significant impact on sales — I only made one sale all day.

What was particularly concerning is that there seems to be very little advertising or public awareness that the market has moved to its new location. If local residents and shoppers don’t know where the market is, traders are being put at an unfair disadvantage from the start.

Another issue is trader access and parking. There doesn’t appear to be any free or practical parking arrangement for traders, meaning I had to pay £7.10 to park in the multi-storey and then carry all of my stock, equipment, tables and display materials across to the venue. For small businesses, this adds unnecessary cost, physical strain, and makes the experience far less viable.

I fully understand that some trading days are quieter than others, but the lack of promotion, poor stall placement, and trader logistics made this feel avoidable.

I’d appreciate understanding:

* What marketing has been done to promote the market’s new location?
* How stall placement is decided for traders?
* Whether trader parking/loading arrangements can be improved?
* What support is being put in place to help increase footfall for independent traders?

Small businesses invest time, money, and effort into attending these events, so it’s important that the setup gives us a fair opportunity to succeed.

Thank you, and I look forward to your response.Stevenage Borough Council Stevenage Borough Council
