Here at Mini Medics as well as being a garage and classic car restoration business, we get asked to help remove vehicles when people have passed away or houses into end of life care, today we had that job to do,

We try to handle these events with as much dignity and care as possible, the lady who once owned this lovely Mini Studio 2 had sadly passed away a few years ago and her husband couldn’t bare to part with it, now in ill health himself and having to move to a care home, we worked with the family to remove the cars which are now in storage awaiting valuation and sale.

It’s truly sad when you see the love someone had for the car that’s no longer with us.

Have a closer look this is how chemically stripping works see the before and after! Always alittle nerve racking when sending a rusty shell for this kind of treatment but as long as it is solid you’ve got nothing to worry about! Definitely worth while doing it on those high end restorations.

We all have a love hate relationship with our classic minis, and while we enjoy time in the garage tinkering there are some jobs especially as the decades age our bones that we just wish you could use snap your fingers and miraculously the job would be done.

More work today on the custom build Clubman, as we continue to sort out the birds nest of wiring loom, we purchased this car as an unfinished project that had been sorted pretty well mechanically thanks to Allspeed and their K series swop subframe, but the paint and wiring was questionable work.

Now sporting a fabulous coat of Cadburys purple paint, it’s time to deal with the wiring,

So the plan is to utilize what we have in the car, make sure everything works and effectively create a pattern and then hand make a new loom but the mission for today was positioning of relays and inertia switch and mock up the fuel system loom and injector wiring from the ECU. And get the thing to run!

This did involve making a bracket!
