Enterprise, Community, Opportunity. Purposeful, supported, work based activities for adults who have learning disabilities and autism.

ECO Work-Shop CIC provides sessions of varied, purposeful, work based activities. The activities benefit the environment and the community and offer adults with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders opportunities to develop life and work skills. Activities include recycling, renovating items, creating up-cycled products, retailing items and carrying out real work tasks outsourced f

rom businesses, such as assembly work. Activities serve the local population in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area. Our recycling and outsourced-tasks service serve businesses and organisations in the town and surrounding towns and villages.

♻️We’ve been testing out a new litter picking method recently…

🧲Introducing our new magnetic sweeper!

⚠️It helps us collect metal items that could easily be missed during a regular litter pick, making the area around our building cleaner and safer by removing potential hazards.

🧡Even a small effort makes a big difference, and we’re proud to help keep our surroundings looking their best!💙

🤩As many of you will already know, during her time as Chair of the Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Councillor Kate Rolfe chose to raise money for us here at ECO Work-Shop.

🦋Kate first discovered us after her husband bought her one of our handmade cards. That one small purchase sparked her interest in what we do and, since then, she has gone on to raise an incredible £6,985 for Work-Shop! We think it’s safe to say that makes it the most valuable card we’ve ever sold!

🤝We were delighted to welcome Kate Rolfe back to Work-Shop last week, where she presented us with the cheque. In return, we were able to give her one of our handmade thank you cards, bringing the story full circle!

🦢We also recently visited The White Swan Hotel, Stratford to thank them for organising and hosting Kate’s Civic Dinner a couple of months ago. That fantastic evening alone contributed £1,300 to the overall total!

🤲It’s people like Kate, and the support of our local community, who enable us to continue bringing purpose and opportunities to the lives of the adults we support.

🛍️Next Friday (31st July), you’ll find us at the Rother Street Market in Stratford-upon-Avon!

📚We’ll be selling our handmade cards, along with a selection of other products to raise some funds for Work-Shop.

🧡The market also provides a great opportunity for some of our participants to gain experience working on the stall throughout the day and to chat with members of the public about what we do.

👋We’ll be there from 9am to 4pm, so make sure to stop by and say hello!

📼We want your old VHS tapes… here’s why!

🤔Did you know that over just a 3 month period in 2024, over 2,100 tonnes of physical media, including VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs, were disposed of by households in the U.K!?

♻️ To help tackle this, we’re collaborating with Net Zero Stratford on an exciting new project! Our participants will carefully dismantle old VHS tapes, separating their components so the materials can be responsibly recycled instead of ending up in landfill or being incinerated.

📬You can drop off your old VHS tapes FREE of charge at either:

✨All of our cards are handmade by adults with learning disabilities and autism, using recycled teabags.

🫵We’re already proudly stocked by wonderful local businesses such as Sister Sister Collective and The Pavilion Coffee Shop, and we’d love you to be next!

🤑Getting started couldn’t be easier! Our cards are £2 each, with a minimum order of only 5 cards. That’s just £10 to support a local not-for-profit while offering your customers something meaningful, unique, creative, and sustainable!

🍓Every Wednesday, Corey heads to the Stratford Garden Centre for his placement at the Fruit and Veg Shack.

🍏Corey helps with a range of tasks such as neatly arranging the fruit and vegetables on the stand, as well as moving crates and recycling.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Last week, Corey received a lovely surprise when Dean from the Fruit and Veg Shack presented him with a brand-new England shirt as an early birthday present!

⚽️ Corey has been proudly wearing his new shirt at Work-Shop ever since and told us it’s currently in the wash, ready for tomorrow’s game!

🙏Thank you so much to Dean and everyone at the Fruit and Veg Shack for always making Corey feel so welcome and for such a thoughtful gift.

🥵Our new air con system has been working especially hard this week, and has allowed us to continue our activities as normal.
