On the 400th anniversary of the publication of Shakespeare's First Folio, we're thrilled to launch our collaboration with award-winning Stratford jewellery maker - a silver jewellery collection inspired by the decorative initial letters and printers' ornaments in the First Folio.

Taking inspiration from the First Folio in collection, Sara was particularly drawn to the marks created by the letterpress printing process. The textures and distinctive edges of the pieces she has designed reflect the subtle imperfections and texture of impressed type.

The collection consists of seven pieces, from a stud earrings set to a statement pendant. All the pieces are sterling silver and hand finished, making each piece unique.

Ben and David Crystal's recently published Everyday Shakespeare: Lines for Life is a thoughtful, elegantly presented book of quotations, gathering lines from the lesser-known corners of Shakespeare's plays and poems that capture our everyday thoughts and emotions. We invited Ben and David to tell us more about the book in our blog. (Link in bio).

Copies of Everyday Shakespeare are available in store and online and include a bookplate signed by the authors.

With National Gardening Week around the corner we've delved into our shop photo archives to when Sir Roy Strong, eminent art historian and garden designer, visited Shakespeare's New Place to celebrate the publication of his book The Quest for Shakespeare's Garden in 2016.

Beautifully illustrated with images from Shakespeare Birthplace Trust collection, the book tells the story of the recreated Elizabethan knot garden at New Place, the inspiration behind its development, and its place in garden history.

You may have noticed the familiar WS motif that appears across many of our exclusive ranges. Did you know the design was inspired by a gold signet ring bearing the initials W.S. discovered in Stratford-upon-Avon, in a field next to Holy Trinity Church?

The ring dates from the late 16th or early 17th century and it's believed that it may have belonged to William Shakespeare.

The ring has been in our care since 1868 and can be seen in the newly reopened exhibition at Shakespeare's New Place. Explore exclusive gifts with our WS motif online https://bit.ly/3uTouiM
