Have you ever considered how lucky we are to have a village shop?

your village shop provides so much more than milk and bread - it helps keep the village alive.
And, unlike the big supermarkets, the benefits don’t leak away to big chains - they stay right here.
The shop is at the heart of the village life and offers:
Convenience – with everyday essentials close to home, vital for those without transport
A friendly place to meet, catch up, and stay connected with staff who know your name
Local support -profits reinvested into the shop, sales for local producers and suppliers
A focal point for village , local news and signing up for events
Resilience and self-sufficiency during tough times – snow, ice, power cuts and we were there for you during the pandemic (when other shops felt unsafe)
Pride and belonging - builds ownership and togetherness
If you are new to the village or not a regular shopper, we would ask you to make a New Year’s resolution to use your village shop whenever you can - milk, bread,fruit and veg, essentials and treats.
Your shop keeps the village alive, self-sufficient, and connected.
Support us even when you don’t need us… so we can be here for you when you do.

WE ARE RECRUITING

SHOP ASSISTANTS - Various hours. Must be over 18.

Your Village Shop is an independent shop and needs you.

Our team is an important part of a family business and everyone has a part to play in our ambitions to make a difference.

Our Village Shop is independent and able to react to customer needs. We stock a wide range of products - from groceries to unique artwork. We pride ourselves on our independence.

As a part of our team you will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of the shop. Working with a team you will be able to support customers and staff, solving problems and keeping the shop running on a day to day basis. You will be able to contribute with your ideas and help develop and shape the store.

Hours will be varied between 8am - 8pm. This role will involve working outside of school hours and you must be able to work during school holidays and on weekends.
