Scoop it or snap it. Same ritual, just a different rhythm, and honestly it comes down to personal preference more than anything else.

Scoopies come packaged in a reusable glass jar with a cork lid and a little wooden scoop, so there's something quite satisfying and tactile about using them, more of a proper little moment if that's what you're after. Snap bars are the simpler option, no fuss, just break off a square and pop it in the burner, perfect if you want something quick and low effort.

Both are made with the exact same coconut and rapeseed wax and give you that same long-lasting, room-filling scent throw. There's no wrong answer here, it's just about which one feels more like you.

Pouring wax at the kitchen table, real mess, real hands.

What a wax melt looks like before it's a wax melt.

This is the table where it all actually happens, coconut and rapeseed wax melting down, fragrance oils measured out, moulds lined up ready to go. It's not glamorous, there's usually wax somewhere it shouldn't be and at least one of us has forgotten to eat lunch.

This is genuinely how every single batch starts. The two of us, a set of scales, and more wax melts than one house should reasonably hold. We wanted to show you the real version rather than a polished one, because that's what this business actually looks like behind the scenes.

The bit of the evening that's just yours.

Kettle's on, kids are finally down, and Rhubarb and Rose is melting away in the burner. Nobody's asking you for anything, nobody needs a snack, a plaster, or to know where their shoes are. Just you, the quiet, and a room that smells absolutely lovely.

It doesn't need to be a whole routine. Some nights it's genuinely just this, five minutes before the next thing starts. That's the whole post really, no big lesson here, just a reminder that this bit counts too.

You asked, so here's the honest answer...

How long do your wax melts actually last? You've asked us this a fair bit, so here's the honest answer, no waffle.

It really depends on a few things: the size of your burner, how big the room is, and how many cubes or scoopies you're using at once. As a rough guide, most of our melts will give you a good several hours of proper scent throw per burn, and if you let the wax cool completely between uses, you can often get a couple more sessions out of the same batch before it's spent.

The simplest way to know it's time to change over? Once you're stood right next to the burner and you can barely smell it, that's your sign. No need to overthink it beyond that.

The fact that we use the best wax and fragrance oils mean our wax melts are hard to beat for a long lasting scent throw! 😊
