A little weekend stop that made me smile... 🤍

While we were over in Ripon this weekend, I just had to pop into F Tate & Sons Garden Centre to see my products on the shelves.

I honestly still can't quite believe it. Seeing something you've poured so much love, time and care into sitting there ready for people to discover is such a special feeling.

Every wax melt is hand-poured by me, and knowing they're now in a place that so many people visit each week means the absolute world.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Sykes Candles, whether you've bought from me, shared a post, recommended me to a friend or simply cheered me on. Every bit of support has helped make moments like this possible. ❤️

Just a little update from me...

The Sykes Candles workshop will be taking a short break from Sunday 19th July until Tuesday 28th July.

✨ If you'd like to place an order before I close, please do so over the next two days. All orders received before then will be made up and posted on Saturday.

Any orders placed from Sunday 19th onwards are more than welcome, but they won't be processed until 28th July, when I'm back in the workshop.

Hope everyone (especially my fellow candle and wax melt makers!) is keeping cool in this heat. ☀️

With temperatures set to rise even further over the next few days, I've decided to close the workshop temporarily and take a little break from pouring.

Although we're lucky enough to have an air conditioning unit in the workshop, soy wax can be quite sensitive to high temperatures. As a natural wax, it can soften, sweat, develop frosting, or even lose its smooth finish when exposed to prolonged heat.

The good news is that this is completely normal and doesn't affect the performance, scent throw or quality of your candles and wax melts.

If you have any soy wax products at home, please try to keep them in a cool, shaded place and out of direct sunlight during the warmer weather.

Most importantly, I hope you're all looking after yourselves, staying hydrated and finding ways to keep cool.
