A wander around the romantic City of Udaipur and its people who are kind, beautiful and live in harmony together. Named the Venice of India it is made of many lakes once a river running alongside the City walls that was made into a lake to add protection against the Mughal Emperors & fierce warriors. The lakes are now overlooked by many palaces that were built through the centuries.
In the centre of the main lake named Pichola a very beautiful White Palace was built as a weekend retreat for the Maharajas living in the opposite City Palace to enjoy privacy.
To reach this very beautiful & historic Lake Palace they built a boat house which still remains today and where you step onto your launch to whisk you away to the Oalace which is now the most beautiful Hotel owned by The Taj Hotels
To say our stay was was completely magical from beginning to end is perhaps an understatement. A magical moment in our lives that we will keep and cherish forever.
Each & every room has been beautifully restored & preserved sustainably & in keeping of the heritage of Udaipur. The Taj group own the grounds of the City Palace and have built a school within the grounds for the children of the City.
