Emerging during the transition from late roots reggae into the early dancehall era, this release captures the darker, heavier sound that defined Jamaican music culture in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Gregory became internationally respected for blending militant street narratives with soulful vocal delivery, influencing both Jamaican sound system culture and the uk reggae movement simultaneously. Like many his later career was mired in troubles and challenges, but at his peak he was untouchable, and a real favourite of ours.

Love a good vinyl related story, and recently came across this little book from . It’s a slim volume, but a great story about finding, then helping to sell a long thought lost vinyl pressing plant hidden away in an industrial until in Africa. Only comment would be it could use more pictures, as it’s a hell of a discovery! This story seems right up your street! I’ve only ever made it as far as South Africa and the which is well worth a visit if you are in that part of the world! Highly recommended.
