If you feel it, say it BIG! 📣 A poetry sculpture trail is coming to Blackburn and Darwen and your words could be part of it.

Take a moment to express yourself by submitting a short poem online and be a HUGE part of the artist, Luke Jerram’s brilliant Of Earth And Sky, an installation across 25 locations in collaboration with poet, Hafsah Aneela Bashir of the Poetry Health Service.

To launch the 2021 Festival programme, Of Earth And Sky will be a great opportunity to get creative and enjoy the outdoors. The special trail will see writing on different subjects in metre-tall letters, painted onto grass, posted onto buildings and hosted on digital screens, encouraging us to explore our streets, parks, waterways and more, while absorbing inspirational and thought-provoking lines of poetry.

Calling people from, or connected to, Lancashire! Getting involved is simple – you don’t need any experience and can be of any age or background.

✍️Just think of a short poem and submit it online.
💭It just needs to be an original piece of work to be considered as part of the sculpture trail.
⏳The deadline for entries is Sunday 11th April 2021.

Blackburn Old Town Hall opened its doors to provide a prestigious and unconventional venue for this special event with over 70 traders providing an extra special ‘not normally on the high street’ shopping experience for town centre visitors. Since then, Blackburn has welcomed a whole host of Makers Markets in various forms and locations, working with partners including Blackburn Business Improvements District, Blackburn College, Blackburn Market, Blackburn Is Open, The Bureau, The Making Rooms, Hopeful and Glorious and The National Festival of Making.

Blackburn is now becoming a hub for Makers and Creative people and is etching it’s place firmly on the UKs creative map.
