Day 7 of - ‘What’s On Your Hook’

Sunshine on sunshine ☀️

My little treat to myself right now is making a Hazy Sunshine Blanket using the yarn I used for my Hexa Flora Blanket. I am having so much fun!

I haven’t had as much crochet time as I’d like recently, but anytime I get a chance I’m excited to pick this up and make a couple more squares. The colour changes are adding a whole new level of awesomeness! 🙌

Day 6 of - ‘Sunday Share’

For this first Sunday Share, I want to shout out six talented makers who I loved working with back in May when they crocheted a sample of my Seashells Blanket.

Their beautiful samples went on to become many things - cushions, full blankets, even bags. Gunvor, Ali, Fiona, Zara, Debbie and Katherine - thank you all so much for testing, and for your enthusiasm and support for this pattern. You guys are awesome 🫶

I’d love for you to pop across to their pages and show them all some love.

Day 5 of - ‘Colour Scheme’

When it comes to colour, my default setting is blue/teal. When in doubt, those are the colours I reach for.

For a lot of projects I make myself branch out, and experiment with yellows, pinks, purples..

But sometimes I let myself stick to the colours I love most. And that’s exactly what I went for with this, my Seashells Blanket. I love how it turned out.

Day 4 of - ‘Favourite Make’

Ok, but you have to promise not to tell the other makes! 🤫

My all time favourite make (so far!) is this, the Hazy Sunshine Blanket.

I’d had this idea in my head, and for the longest time at the beginning the suns I made weren’t quite as I wanted. I made a LOT of different ones.

Once the suns felt right, everything fell into place like they were meant to be. And maybe they were.

I’m excited to show you how I’m getting on with the second one that I’m making at the moment - luckily there’s a prompt for that in just a couple of days 😊

Can’t wait to see all of your favourite makes today, and no doubt add several projects to my to-make list!

Day 3 of - ‘Flash Your Stash’

Honestly? I feel like the thought of flashing my stash is more terrifying than showing my face on Day 1 🤣

My stash is.. how can I put it.. a mess, a disaster. Overflowing, and divided into numerous un-photogenic locations in a failed attempt at stopping it taking over the house.

You don’t wanna see that! 🫣

So I’m gonna flash my stash.. busting hot water bottle cover instead. One of my skills is collecting teeny tiny balls of leftover yarn that really aren’t big enough for anything. This project became the perfect way to use those up, and at least bring some semblance of order to an otherwise chaotic yarn hoard! 🤣

Now I’m gonna spend the rest of the day drooling over everyone else’s stash and imagining what I would make with them 🤣

Day 2 of - ‘Rainbow’

Good morning! Wasn’t yesterday so much fun? It was so lovely seeing you all and getting to know you a little better. Crochet community at its best 💛

For today’s prompt, I’m sharing my most rainbow-y make, my Hexa Flora Blanket.

This blanket means a lot to me - it changed how I see colour, and made me realise just how happy bright colours can make you. More than two years after finishing it, it still makes me smile every time I see it.

So, it’s simultaneously my ‘Rainbow’ and my pot of gold as well 🫶

Well, hello! 👋

Day 1 of - ‘This is Me’

I’m Debbie, the crochet designer behind Cornwall Crochet. I love playing with bright colours and interesting shapes to create blanket patterns that are fun to make.. and even more fun to put your own spin on!

In a former life I was a scuba diving instructor travelling and working all over the world, and now I live in sunny Cornwall.. surrounded by beautiful scenery, lots of yarn and a ton of ideas! ☀️

I love Yarn Friends Rock, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all a little better! 💛

August, you beauty… 💛

This may have been my favourite month of the year so far. Through the heatwaves I finished my Pivot Point Quilt and began seeing beautiful tester versions quietly come together..

And then it’s been a month of sunshine-based play: making a special Hazy Sunshine to mark the partial solar eclipse and celebrate Granny Square Day, and starting a passion project making a Hazy Sunshine Blanket using my Hexa Flora yarn pack. Every square has made me smile from ear to ear, seeing how the colour changes in beautiful Yarnsmiths Lagoon DK make each square unique.

I have SO many exciting projects lined up for September, the hardest part will be deciding which to make first! What a wonderful problem to have 😍

🧡

29/08/2026

Saturday morning, and the beginning of a three day weekend in the UK 🙌

On this rainy morning, join me as I crochet the Seashells Blanket 🐚

All systems are GO for this blanket to launch on September 10th - mark your calendars!

Enjoy the weekend, everyone 💙
