Please note that Station Books will be CLOSED from April 29th - May 2nd and May 4th - May 8th due to a family emergency.

Ross and I had planned cover for the whole period we would be away in the form of my dad and his partner Sue, our greatest supports and cheerleaders keeping the doors open. Unfortunately, my dad is very poorly and requires heart surgery, leaving them unable to open for us.

It’s not ideal, but Ross’s dad has kindly stepped in to open for us on Saturday 3rd. Ross and I will be back for more book chat and literary festival shenanigans on the 9th.

I’m so sorry about this, but in this instance family has to come first.

I’m afraid the shop will be closed today (Tuesday 11th Feb) while I battle the dreaded lurgy. Massive apologies, but not only do I not feel well enough to open but I have a responsibility not to spread germs around!

Some dates for your diaries! We’re extending our opening hours this weekend and will be open for you from 9-7 on Saturday, and from 11-4 on Sunday! Normal hours on Monday, before we close up for Christmas at lunchtime on Christmas Eve and I (Laura, your favourite new internet book friend) pass out in a heap until New Years.

Christmas Day will mark ONE MONTH since opening (and one month since I’ve had a day off 😅) and we are so full of love and joy and excitement— and we’re exhausted, and need a break! We’ll be back in the New Year with exciting new events and announcements!

Mug Mania is heating up!

As a reminder, we have a limited number of misprinted mugs that arrived in the wrong colour, and which our supplier is replacing for us but not collecting. So, your mission is simple.

Approach the counter and request a red mug in a funny, creative or otherwise surreptitious way. We’ve had songs, poems, coded messages and ransom notes so far. Can you top that? There’s about 25 mugs left now, so you’d better get on with it!

GIVEAWAY ALERT!

Today we received a delivery of our coveted Station Books mugs, but unfortunately they’ve been misprinted! They have red handles, rather than the signature orange that you know and love 🧡! The supplier is replacing them, but they’re not collecting the misprinted ones from us, leaving us with tons of misprinted mugs we don’t want to sell.

So… if you want a free mug* your mission is simple. Approach the counter and say “gimme a red mug” as surreptitiously as possible**. The weirder the better.

*misprinted red mugs only, while stocks last. The proper orange handled mugs are available for £10 as usual!

**only weird mug requests will be considered. Ordinary “hi please can I have a free mug” questions will be met with blank stares. Sidling up to the counter like James Bond will earn you a mug.
