Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Having spent many years in Singapore, Chinese New Year was a special occasion, time with family & friends, celebrations, lion dances and good food and it remains a special time of year in our household

So as we usher in the year of the Rabbit, representing peace, prosperity and longevity, I wish everyone great health and prosperity

I love Asanoha, the geometric pattern representing h**p leaves, so when I saw this handmade Nepalese paper it was a guaranteed purchase!

I think the pattern lends itself so well to these stars - use them to decorate at Christmas, or if you love stars like I do, keep them up all year round ✨✨

I have left these unvarnished so the beauty of this wonderful paper is preserved so I don’t recommend hanging them where they may get wet

I’ll have some with me at the upcoming Southborough Street Community Winter Fayre on 3 December along with a few other designs, you can also find them on my website and at the wonderful creative collective that is www.silkpurseguild.com

It’s peony season and who doesn’t love these gorgeous flowers

One of my favourite papers is the handmade Japanese chiyogami peony print and I am so happy to have it in three awesome colour combinations

Sadly the blooms don’t last long but with a pair of peony earrings you can wear them all year round!

In honour of a little post about trees 🌳🌳

I decided that my business, having such a connection with paper, would start supporting a charity that helps the source of that paper and hopefully the planet as a whole and so since 2020 I have funded a tree for every product purchased

This has been achieved with - a U.K. charity that not only tackles climate change through reforestation programmes but also supports local communities in these areas focusing on the participation of women

For sales up to the end of May 2022 I have been able to fund 3,387 trees as part of this partnership

So I would like to, on behalf of the trees and myself, thank you, my supporters and customers, that have made this possible
