A new exhibition opens at Seafolk tomorrow! ☺️

I’m really excited to be welcoming Morn Robson to the gallery with a collection of her wonderful paintings.

Morn paints the Cornish coast and flowers from her garden in oils, with gorgeous colour, texture and expressive marks. I’ve been looking forward to getting these pieces on the walls – they’re absolutely stunning.

We’re kicking things off with an Exhibition Opening tomorrow evening, 6–7.30pm.

Come along, have a glass of something, meet Morn and have the first look at the exhibition.

Every week, Seafolk will shine a light on a different Cornish maker, and I’m thrilled that Gilliflower Pottery is the first.

Jana’s ceramics are the sort of pieces that become favourites—beautiful to look at, wonderful to use, and made to last.

Come and spend a day playing with colour, wax and cloth…

On Sunday 2 August, I’ll be teaching a full-day Batik Workshop at Lanjeth Water Gardens, Cornwall.

We’ll spend the day exploring this wonderfully unpredictable process — building layers of wax and colour, experimenting with marks and pattern, and creating your own piece of batik to take home.

No experience needed. Just come ready to experiment, have some creative fun and leave with several pieces of Batik fabric.☺️

Come and spend a relaxing Sunday surrounded by the lakes, ponds, flowers and gardens at Lanjeth, while learning the wonderfully colourful art of batik.

We’ll spend the day experimenting with hot wax and vibrant dyes, creating samples before you make your own large piece of batik artwork to take home.

No experience needed — just come ready to switch off, get creative and enjoy making. 💛

9 days to go…

I think the sanding is finally done… 😳

Everything aches.

Every muscle knows about it.

But today… we paint! 🎨

The Mission: Impossible soundtrack has now been replaced by the Benny Hill theme… which feels far more appropriate. 😂

It’s still far too hot to run around in one’s underwear… but I’m fairly sure that’s not the look I’m going for. 😆

Seafolk is finally starting to come to life.

Seafolk Sunday Batik Workshop

Escape for a day of creativity at the beautiful Lanjeth Nursery and Water Gardens

Spend a relaxing Sunday surrounded by lakes, ponds, flowers, trees and wandering chickens as you discover the ancient art of batik.

Using hot wax and vibrant dyes, you’ll learn this fascinating wax-resist technique, creating sample pieces before producing your own large, colourful artwork to take home.

No experience is needed – just come along, slow down and enjoy a day of making.

Well… it’s been quite a week at Seafolk! 😂

There’s been dust, peeling paint, several changes of mind, a bit of crying and far too much heat — but it’s finally beginning to look like Seafolk.

I’m opening the doors on 24 July, with my own jewellery and artwork taking centre stage for the first week.
