It's always nice to see our finds on display - during a recent watching brief at Furness Abbey we recovered a number of tiles, probably used in the floors of the former Furness Abbey Hotel, made by Garrett Brothers of Staffordshire and dating from the 1860s. After confirming with English Heritage we were able to donate some examples to the Apedale Heritage Centre for their collection, which is pretty impressive!

In German we say, Es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter; es gibt nur schlechte Kleidung ("There no rubbish weather, only rubbish clothing"). I guess it also works for finds and samples work: Es gibt keine blöde Aufgaben, nur einen blöden Zeitpunkt sie zu machen ("There is no rubbish tasks, only a rubbish time to carry them out"). I love sample processing in any case, but I love it even MORE in hot weather like this!!! So this is the best task this weather! Yay!! I'm looking forward to this week at work 😁
