A particularly beautiful painted pine and ash Irish vernacular sugan armchair with nicely curved armrests and unusual inscribed dated back lath with cut out hearts. Possibly a marriage chair?

Very sturdy and structurally sound with no losses to the ropework. Dated 1927 to back lath, but probably earlier. A charming honest chair with great ‘folky’ appeal.
