The Lion’s Gate Portal is almost here! 🦁
Whether you see it as an energetic portal, an astrological event or simply a reminder to pause for a while, I always think 8th August is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with yourself 🥰 if you’ve been a little off your path recently, this could be a good way to realign.
The number 8 has long been associated with abundance, personal power, confidence and balance. For me, Lion’s Gate isn’t really about trying to manifest a completely different life overnight. It’s about asking yourself one simple question…
Am I living in alignment with the person I’m becoming? And If the answer is yes, keep going! But If the answer is no, perhaps this is your invitation to make a change.
For those of us who walk a more magical path, Lion’s Gate can be a wonderful time to work with intention. The veil isn’t traditionally believed to be thinner as it is at Samhain, but many people experience this as a time when inspiration feels stronger, confidence grows, and it’s easier to connect with the version of ourselves that already knows where we’re heading, it’s time to take those bolder steps, living fully instead of making ourselves smaller.
If you’re planning a little ritual at home, keep it simple or make it as elaborate as your heart desires 🥰
You could cleanse your space with smoke, herbs or sound before lighting a gold, orange or white candle. Build a small altar with crystals that remind you of courage and abundance, such as Sunstone, Citrine, Carnelian, Pyrite or Clear Quartz, they are all beautiful companions for this energy.
Spend a little time journalling. Rather than writing a list of things you want, write as though you’ve already received them. How does your future self feel? What do they wake up excited for? Who have they become along the way?
Write your intentions on paper, fold them towards you three times to draw them in, and place them beneath a crystal overnight. Some people like to burn their intentions safely as an offering to the Universe, while others keep them on their altar until they begin to unfold. There isn’t a right or wrong way, only what feels meaningful to you.
If you work with manifestation, remember that intention is only half of the process. Lion’s Gate isn’t just about asking the Universe for abundance. It’s also about becoming the person who is willing to receive it.
You might like to spend a few moments visualising yourself walking through a great golden doorway. Behind you are old fears, self-doubt, limiting beliefs and the stories you’ve carried for years. Ahead of you is the version of yourself that no longer apologises for taking up space, trusts her intuition and says yes to the opportunities that truly light her up.
Then ask yourself…
“What’s one thing I can do tomorrow that brings me one step closer to my goal?”
Because magic isn’t only found in rituals, but in the actions we take afterwards.
Whatever Lion’s Gate means to you, I hope you find a little time to slow down, reflect, dream a little bigger and remember just how powerful you already are 😘
Happy Lion’s Gate. May your path be filled with courage, abundance and magic 🫶
