🇫🇷 PARIS… YOU CERTAINLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE AN EXIT! 🚨
Well, my final day in Paris hasn’t quite gone according to plan!
After yesterday’s incredible success at Salon du Vintage, I’d planned to spend today enjoying the delights of this beautiful city before my 10pm flight home.
But Paris had other ideas!
Last night, my hotel manager warned me about today’s planned demonstrations and strongly advised me to leave the area as early as possible.
This morning, I was enjoying a peaceful coffee in my hotel room when suddenly I heard shouting and yelling from the street below.
I looked out of my window to see protesters and riot police moving along the road, right outside my hotel! 😳
Then the phone rang.
“Madame, you must leave NOW!”
Well, that’s one way to speed up the checkout process!
I threw everything into my suitcase, raced downstairs and was met by a waiting taxi driver who bundled my luggage into the boot before we made a rather hasty departure!
I’ve watched scenes like this on television countless times, but there’s something quite unsettling about seeing riot police and protesters directly beneath your own hotel window.
So much for a leisurely final day of Parisian cafés, shopping and people-watching!
Instead, I’m heading straight for Charles de Gaulle Airport, with rather a lot of hours to spare before my flight.
From designer handbags and ch*****ne to riot police and a getaway taxi in less than 24 hours! 😂
Never a dull moment!
Au revoir, Paris. You’ve been fabulous, exhilarating and just a little bit dramatic. 🇫🇷❤️
