We are sisters Claire & Julie and we started Paper Street Dolls together because of our love of paper & decorating to the max ⚡️ We’ve been inspired to create luxury paper decorations with character, designed & handmade in our studio in Glasgow! Our range currently includes wall hangings, garlands, tassels, banners, backdrops and DIYs. We love creating colourful, contemporary and fun items - so whether you need decor for your home, Christmas, birthday or anything you love to celebrate we can be your one stop shop! Sustainability is important to us so all our decorations are plastic free & we use environmentally friendly, biodegradable or recyclable materials. We source materials as locally to us as possible and most of our paper milled in either the UK or France. Everything we sell is entirely handmade & hand painted by us - custom orders and collaborations welcome!

A day out visiting the highland cattle in Po***ck park turned into an impromptu photoshoot for our new butterfly garland! 🦋

Both this handmade garland and our Butterfly riso print feature butterflies that are common in Glasgow.

(and the highland cows were the perfect background artists 😂 special guest mention to the magpie)

Butterfly Garland - Officially online!

This labour of love is entirely handmade in Glasgow 🦋
Featuring butterflies common to the city we turned our illustrations into riso prints, cut them out then stitched them into the final garland.

A quick glimpse of our metallic multi shape garlands 💛🩶✨

We LOVE the lustrous silver and gold french papers we use to make our metallic paper garlands. This quality paper isn't coated so there are no white edges - just pure shimmering colour 😎

As with all our decor we make these 2.5m garlands sustainably and ethically by hand.
These aren't available on our new website yet (but stay tuned to catch them first!)

Most commonly the full moon in July, each garland is hand-painted by us on thin white card with a mix of purple, green and pearlised inks which we cut into shapes representing the phases from waxing, full and waning moon.>>>

As an abstract, artistic interpretation this hint of pearlised ink adds a luminescence that symbolises that this moon is from the ‘light’ half of the Celtic calendar. >>>

This month the full moon lands on July 29th 💚
We love the colour combo of green & purple and to us it feels like a good way to encapsulate the electricity in the air during this thunder prone month of weather contrasts ☀️⛈️>>>

The Pyramid Design Market brings together a mix of new and established artists and designers, with a focus on thoughtful, well-made work and the people behind it. It’s a chance to discover something special, support local talent, and enjoy a relaxed browse through the beautiful Pyramid halls.

What a typical market day looks like for us ✨

We don't have a car so public transport is a must!
Luckily the sun was shining for today's outdoor market (even if the wind was blowing a bit too much at times 😅) so all our paper garlands & goodies got to have a wee twirl with NO RAIN 🙌

Some people pay a lot for market research we do ours literally in person 😂
As creative makers it means a lot to hear people say our work is beautiful and that we make lovely stuff 💕
At this market in particular it was a lovely surprise to see some familiar faces & friends and we had one particularly incredible, illuminating conversation with some customers 💕

We're not businesswomen.
We're not looking to maximise profits at the expense of ANYONE.
We've always just wanted to be able to sustain a creative livelihood and create the kind of work we want to see in the world.
We're not going anywhere ❤️

Butterflies of Glasgow risograph print 🦋

We've been brewing on this one for some time and a visit from a peacock butterfly finally set us in motion.

You don't have to live in the countryside to embrace nature - nature truly is all around us in a city, we just have to be open to looking & recognising our natural neighbours 🧡

In anticipation of the weekend's micro blue moon (and our first time at !) we've been painting up some of our blue moon paper to make more mini & regular blue moon wall hangings 💙

The blue skies are with us too and paint has thankfully been drying so fast the last few days! 🌞

Thank you to everyone who came along to yesterday at Glasgow's Kelvinbridge, so good to blow off the market cobwebs & chat to customers old and new 🫶

And did we mention IT STAYED DRY?!
(the anxiety that comes with making paper based work & booking outdoor markets in Scotland is not for the faint of heart 😅)

Biggest laughs of the day went to the cake topper at the right of the last slide, glad there are so many of us with a good dash of dark humour. And big up to the lady who bought a Hip Hip Hooray cake topper for her cousin who's getting a hip replacement 🙌

We are back at the Railyard Sat June 6th ❤️
