When my father told me he'd got me a couple of pedals, I wasn't expecting this.
A late 60s Hornby-Skewes silicon treble booster; the very pedal used by Richie Blackmore on Deep Purple's Machinehead.
The key to one of my favourite guitar tones ever!
I can't believe how clean it is, I feel like I've won the guitar pedal lottery.
Just off to plug an S style guitar into it, and then into a Marshall.

Aloha to the Bellini Hawaiian dancer acoustic.
Quite the unique instrument, with its arched top and round soundhole.
These were made in South Africa in the 50s/60s and are "guaranteed not to split"
It has a timbre of its own, and should be amazing for recording.
As my Hawaiian friends would say, it's cherry 🍒
My kitsch acoustic guitar shaped hole in my guitarsenal is very much satisfied.

Up early this morning to do a road trip for this beautiful old thing.
Just loaded the Kustom Hustler into the boot, and it'll be off home for a full restoration.
This is a white whale of an amp in the UK owing to the limited amount that were imported during the short life of Kustom Amps under Bud Ross.
The tuck n roll is a bit road worn, and the circuit needs a look over and a service. But I couldn't be happier.
Swampy roots tones are in my future.

I reported it, with a link to the real listing on eBay and was told it didn't violate Vinted's policies.
There's a clear lack of vetting and screening going on here.
Be careful out there, this is the second fraudulent advert I've seen on Vinted recently.

Looking at Reverb UK this evening and spotted a listing with a few John Birch Guitars catalogs from the 70s.
Imagine my delight to see my SG on the cover of one example!
Dai Shell from local legends Sassafras played the same model too, but with a maple fretboard, whereas mine is Brazilian rosewood.

Just spent the afternoon cleaning up this old pop punk beauty.
This is the Stagg copy of Tom Delonge's iconic single pickup workhorse. The one that he used throughout the E***a Of The State era.
These were available around 20 years ago, and I wanted the yellow one .... but I could never find it. Finally, I have one 😁
It arrived today, and was absolutely filthy. It's had a clean, a truss rod tweak and it's playable, with one slightly high fret.
The pickup is stupidly hot, and I think a potentiometer upgrade and treble bleed may be in order to get maximum flexibility.
It's daft, it's silly, it's very Blink 182.
My 12 year old self is very happy right now, what's my age again?

We've had a new The Rolling Stones album, a new Paul McCartney album, and a new Ringo Starr album this year.
They've collaborated, but never recorded a song together.
As the surviving members of the two biggest bands of all time, I'd love to hear a song, an EP, or even an album....
I can dream!
