Each summer I get to this point and can’t understand how it went so fast but then I look back over the photos and realise it’s because we were distracted… in such a great way by sunshine, two islands and friends.
next time we see you guys we need some new photos! We were having too much fun this time to capture it 🥰

Pen sketch or soul reset?

I didn’t pick up my sketchbook much during the last few weeks and I think that’s partly why I’ve been feeling flat lately. Writing, editing and following the self pub pathway has been all consuming, add into the mix school holidays and well… you get the idea.

What I do know, is that in the half hour I spent scribbling this, my shoulders relaxed and my mind cleared.

Subconsciously, I know this was inspired by my debut novel especially as it’s something I’ve thought little else of recently. And, as I’ve been struggling to be motivated, maybe it was my creative soul nudging me back to where I need to be. Which ever way I view it, I know it bought calm and I plan to set more time aside to pick up the pen and put it to paper going forward.

The exciting thing is that no doodle is ever wasted and who knows, perhaps some of the sketches will make their way in to the limited edition version of Secrets & Soulmates 🥰
