A week tomorrow, our sister shop ~Southampton Canoes is hosting a sea kayaking demo-day, down in Poole harbour.
P&H and Valley will be attendance with a wide range of stunning sea kayaks, that are asking to be tried and tested.
Contact the folks down at the shop if you would like to attend, or paddle a specific model of sea kayak on the day.

If you've been thinking about your dream kayak, then this is the chance to try one! Come meet our team alongside P&H Sea Kayaks, North Shore Sea Kayaks, and Valley Sea Kayaks, who'll be at Lake Pier offering expert information and complete guidance on these amazing boats!

The event is completely free and open to all. On water demos will be available to try between 10am until 2pm, so come make the most of this opportunity!

Not all canoeists are just making plans for later in 2026, some folks are out braving the weather already this year. Jason and Alfie collected their Pelican 15.5 (https://www.manchester-canoes-and-kayaks.co.uk/open-canoes/pelican-15-5-canoe) this week, and headed straight up to Scotland for a multiday canoe-camping trip on Lock Awe. Here is the film of their adventures amongst snow-capped mountains:

In this video my son and I head out for a winter canoe trip on Loch Awe facing freezing temperatures and wet windy conditions.

It took the original Norsemen 2 days to reach Shetland from Norway in their longships. We cheated and took over Norse sea kayaks on the overnight ferry from Aberdeen. Some amazing scenery, tunnels and days out to be had (amongst the winds and swell).
Highly recommended as a destination, and the Bylga and Idun performed extremely well!
