Mirabelle Makery is owned and run by me, Charlotte, from my home in Wells, Somerset. I’ve always loved adding handmade touches to special occasions and gifts - and calligraphy is the perfect way to do that. Since discovering the dip pen after a career change I haven't been able to put it down since! I love working on weddings as calligraphy goes hand in hand with them perfectly; with handwritten place cards, matching vow books and on-the-day wedding stationery, bland can be transformed into grand in an instant, and add a sense of luxury to your gathering. My products are inspired by French and English vintage and I love nothing more than getting immersed in making one-off pieces that aren’t mass produced. As a stand against over-consumerism and throw-away party accessories, my aim is to make elegant heirlooms that not only make your celebration utterly beautiful with the smallest of details, but serve as a heartfelt keepsake for a long time to come. I'm proud to use paper which is made less than a mile away from where I live at a mill which uses rare and traditional techniques - the last of its kind left in England. I source my materials locally where possible and am committed to sustainable practices in my life and work.
