Reflection time:

Before we hit the in Madrid, we spent a few days in Geneva 🇨🇭 and it really gave us perspective!

While in Geneva, we received EUDR training from the — digging into what the next chapter of coffee trade into Europe will require.

It will demand new traceability systems, geolocation data, stronger due diligence. It will demand real change that, frankly, often feels overwhelming in the face of an already volatile market.

The brightest spot, however, was being in a group of friends who respect and uplift each other. It makes all the difference! 💪🏽 Learning together. Asking questions together. Preparing together.

Dream Coffee is grateful to be surrounded by a group of industry-peers-turned-real life friends who believe that supporting each other on this journey makes the whole industry stronger. ☕️🌍

What’s coming next is serious — but we’re not facing it alone! 🙏🏾💪🏽😮‍💨

If in Madrid has reminded us of one thing, it’s that coffee will always bring different cultures together. Spain is one of the largest consumers of Robusta coffee in the WORLD. Uganda is one of the largest Robusta producers in the WORLD.

In a match made in heaven, Dream Coffee and our Ugandan counterparts have been having fantastic and revealing conversations with buyers in the Spanish market about strengthening Uganda’s presence in every morning cup of coffee here.

So you heard it here first. Community is alive and well and we are strengthening our relationships here to make sure they outlive us 💗🙏🏾

ARE YOU READY?
We’re heading to Spain next month!
It’s no secret that we’re proud of our coffee, but we believe that to be the best, you have to be around the best. That’s why we’re super excited to be at the Madrid Coffee Fest this year!

Yes, of course, we’re looking to meet new clients and grow the Dream Coffee family (come say hi if you’re there!), but we’re also going with our “student hats” on.

There’s something so special about seeing Ugandan coffee sitting on a table next to world-class coffees from every other continent. It’s the ultimate reality check and a rich source of inspiration. We’re ready to see how our unique flavors hold their own on the global stage and bring all that fresh energy back to our work here at home.

Madrid, let’s goooooooo ☕️💪🏾

Reflection time: 🤩

First off, we a good cupping session must do TWO things: 1) get the tastebuds going ofc. And 2) Get opinions flowing! (Some of the more “divisive” coffee brought out strong opinions about co-ferments 😂)

delivered on BOTH when we met them last month 👏🏾👏🏾

But jokes and laughter aside, I left with a deep appreciation for the work Covoya does to keep everything as human as possible within this mammoth of an industry. Their dedication to making sure farmers are well taken care of - taking a risk here and there even if it means smaller margins! - resonated deeply with our heart here at Dream Coffee.

We’re keen to see the different ways Dream and Covoya can work together to bring more AMAZING Ugandan coffee to the EUK market, but that aside, cheers to meeting some great humans.

What an exciting privilege to share space at the Manchester Coffee Festival with fellow Ugandan producers, UK roasters, and other industry partners.
Competition divides, but collaboration amplifies — and this weekend proved just how far we can go when we move as one.
Together, we’re rewriting the story of Ugandan coffee and reclaiming our place on the world stage. 🇺🇬✨

Coffee as far as the eye can see! Kabunyata Farm, which is operated and owned by Kabunyata Coffee Growers, acts as a collection centre for the entire Kabunyata region. The farm itself sits on 177acres of prestine coffee. We visited the farm as we expand our sourcing reach and are delighted at the work they are putting in to register their farmers in accordance with EUDR guidelines which go into effect at the end of the year!
